Victor meets with JT and Paul on their covert investigation of Chow, and never mind what Nikki wants (she told Paul to drop his investigation). He says keep it up until there is no longer any danger for Nikki.
Nikki interrupts David during a meeting in Indigo - says it's important.
Cane's asleep in Chloe's car, wakes up to find her on top of him, faking sleep. He's naked. He freaks out when she tells him they had sex, believes her.
Kevin's back from his Daniel thing, surprises Jana, kisses. Very cute.
Amber at RS office looking for a phone number for Jack, has to rush home to get ready for Daniel. She's having another guilt attack over Adrian. Daniel surprises her at the elevator! Hugs, squeals. He gives her sketches he did of the places he'd been, wanted her to see them through his eyes. Love, love, love talk. Off they rush to Jana's welcome home party.
Tyra and that kid have dinner with Devon and Neil. Lily's due home soon that night.
Paul and JT give Victor more info on Chow, figure he's got to be after Nikki's fortune too now.
Nikki practically begs David for another chance. He says nope, he's not afraid of anything but she should be.
Oh no. Lily's back, notices there's something fishy between Chloe and Cane and Chloe blurts out that she and Cane had sex. Nice one, Chloe.
Fireworks with Chloe, Cane and Lily. Lily calls Chloe a bitch.
Kevin and Jana exchange presents - it's a Ouija board, an antique one he found in Dublin. Daniel and Amber arrive. Funny, as Amber and Daniel are in a hurry to go home, make love, but Kevin and Jana insist they stay and play on the board.
Neil thanks Karen for urging him to help Tyra and Anna - Devon so happy. He tells her he's hired Tyra as well as putting her up at his place. Karen's not pleased.
More Nikki being pathetic with David. Across the room, Paul gets an interesting phone call - Nina, the daughter of Chow wife number 2, found dead - not an accident.
After a barrage, Lily throws Chloe out. (Calling her a bitch was kind of mild, if you ask me, lol.) Then she throws Cane out too. Upset Lily.
The 4 play Ouija. Silly. Ouija says Amber did NOT look at guys while Daniel was gone.
Neil with Tyra discuss Devon and all his losses. He's so grateful she's there for Devon.
Whoa, Cane is more than furious with Chloe.
And even more Nikki begging David for another go at their marriage.
Paul tells Victor and JT that it looks like Nina was fed drugs that caused her to OD and die, not suicide. And Nina had made an entry in her ledger that she had heard from David Chow that day.
Devon and the kid visit Lily. Ana goes upstairs to get her present, Lily tells Devon what had just happened with Cane. Devon doesn't think Cane did it, thinks Chloe's lying.
Cane confronts Chloe who is lying like MAD! He wants her gone from his life, the company and Lily.
Victor orders Paul to say nothing about Chow's step-daughter's death to Nikki, she'll just get defensive again.
Daniel and Amber start making love at home.
Victor walks right up to David and stares at him, turns and leaves. Nikki apologises, then asks David up to her room, just for tonight, and up they go.
Neil and Karen cozy dance, so good to hold her close in his arms. Lurve talk, kisses.
Sweet Kevin and Jana, kisses. Daniel and Amber in the afterglow, love, love.
Lily lets Cane in. He tells her nothing happened, he was set up. She believes him. Good scene! Hug.
Chloe take a phone call. No, she doesn't do booty calls anymore because she just found out she's pregnant by her new boyfriend, hangs up. She says to herself that Cane is going to be her baby daddy and she'll give him the one thing Lily can't.
Very interesting, wonder how Chloe will get pregnant
She's already pregnant, Shelly. She learned that the other day. On her phone, she told the caller she doesn't do booty calls anymore, so some guy she casually slept with is likely the father.
I know what you're saying about the paternity test! These days everyone seems to have them. At least it will give Cane and Lily a good story until Chloe is exposed, and I believe she will be.
Y&R and ABC are different kinds of soap, though, non? Y&R has a wide range of characters, all ages, all doing different things. Do you think for one second a character like TSJ's Todd Manning would even exist on Y&R? Never!! Maybe as a transient villain, like Terrible Tom, but he's not sustainable at all. And the writing is so much better too. Yeah, the duplicitous bitch who tricks some poor good guy into a fake paternity is old hat, but Lily and Cane needed something to give them a bit of angst, lol. What with over-the-counter paternity tests available now, that story won't last too long, I hope! This is a Phyllis tricks Danny story again, but I don't really mind.
I do think the Nikki/Victor dance is well under way already. I didn't recap this, but when Victor gave David that stare, then walked away, Nikki pulled out her "you're my husband and I love you" routine with David. He asked her if this was just a reaction to Victor meddling again, and she said no, but it was obvious she was clinging like crazy to her marriage to David because of Victor, and didn't want Victor to know that he was right about David all a long. And tomorrow, Sabrina's world starts to unravel as Phillipe, her ex, turns up. Don't you hope her baby is actually his and not Vasectomy Victor's? I sure do! That would explain HER big fat rush into a romance with the old guy. She started it, remember?
See, there's yet another reason to prefer Y&R, LOL. ABC force feeds the viewers, 'trains" them to like a character. Cane is popular, so the writers will be given the directive to keep him that way. They can give a character an edge (see Jill these days??) or bring out his bad boy side (Jack) or make them temporarily stupid (see Nikki) but they always bring them back to likeable, even Gloria and Jeff! Of course, villains will always be hated, but that's intentional.
Now on OLTL, which I did watch today as much as I didn't want to, but it's beastly hot and I have no energy, there was Nora (who I could never stand, ever) and Lindsay, damn Roxy (who used to be amusing but now annoys me) and Tess pretending to be Jessica. Peh. Not a fun watch for me. Drunken Bo, Rex doing his "you're just like a daddy to me" thing - same OLD routine we've seen for 2 years. Two years!! Nora has been chasing down Lindsay for 10 years. Ten Years!! They think this is interesting?
I'm not sure when I started to be so indifferent to OLTL, but most likely right after we had Todd sniffing Evangeline's hair. I hated that period, but I still read spoilers. Now, I don't even open ravenbeauty's weekly site. I don't care. And that's not how you keep viewers.
