Saturday

today is just a day of chores, what are you all up to?

I had to wash my floors, the puppy is keeping them quite dirty for me. I told my son and husband they are going to be washing floors once a week and giving that dog a bath. She's just too much work for me.

I'm just happy with my yorkie, didn't need another mess maker around here!

We did the heavy grocery shopping, then picked up my mother - she was all alone as my father took off this morning for a Hamfest (he's a ham radio operator) and then went to the recycle depot, the bakery, Ikea, where my slip fell off, so I stepped out of it and stuck it in my purse,, Pet Valu, a wine store, took mom back home (dad returned), came home, unfurled a leg of lamb, marinated it for tomorrow, sat down and popped in here. All of that and I forgot to pick up something for our dinner tonight and it's too late to thaw something from the freezer. No, I don't use a microwave.

It's thundering like mad now, and really dark, so whatever we do end up eating, I'll have to cook inside. Ted wants us to be vegan one day a week (yick), so tonight might be the start. I could feed him a tin of beans, lol. That'll teach him.

Tina - sorry about the puppy and his messes. Get the menfolk to do the floors! Be sure to let them know you have high standards for cleaning so they don't just smear the mess around and walk away thinking it's done, like my guys used to do if I ever made them take over a cleaning chore.

I had a very busy day! This morning Dorie's friend Lucy came over for a doggie play date, so they spent the morning outside playing. I ventured to Home Depot, in search of my hard wood flooring for my vacation project, and ended-up with 600 square feet of flooring and four new solid pine doors for my hallway.

I took home six boxes of flooring, and all the other stuff. There was 24 more boxes and three doors to come home on Monday. One door has to be special ordered. My parents have a minivan, so we were going to go back tomorrow to get the rest, but they called me, and they were out, so they said let's go get it, so back to Home Depot I went. After we got it all into the house, I took them out for a bite to eat, and a cool beverage.

I have enough flooring for three bedrooms and the hallway. My goal is to get my bedroom and the hallway done this week. I am also replacing all of the molding in the hallway. Tomorrow morning I will be pulling up the hallway rug, then taking my parents out for a nice meal, it is their 44th wedding anniversary.

I'm exhausted. Did I ever shop today, and spend some serious money, but I will also be finally getting to some stuff around the house that has been bugging me. I also have to power wash the house, and trim the hedges next week.

I know it does not sound relaxing, but it is to me. I spend so much time at a computer during the work week that it will be great to do stuff for myself, that produces tangible results that I can enjoy for years to come.

Oh, worst case scenario, I have a man's number who does flooring installations, if I find myself in over my head. I'll be getting the dust off of my power tools. I'll take pictures as I progress through the project to see what you guys think.

wow you're going to do the floors yourself! Amazing. Come do mine next! haha

I just cleaned alot, my husband did outside stuff. All because of the big party he's having. A party will make you fix up your house that is for sure. I even ended up cleaning out some kitchen cupboards that have not been cleaned in 4 years.

we're all so tired.

sleep day tomorrow!!
