what my Zachary did now

my middle son is truly a Dennis the menace. You all know how he cut his sister's hair last year.

Well apparently last night the few minutes he was out front, he took a lava rock from our front landscaping and scratched up my husband's car all over and wrote his name on the hood!

My husband was pissed!

I kind of laughed when I saw it, but of course didn't let Zachary know I thought it was funny....

Geez, Tina, that's awful. I don't know why kids do stuff like that. I remember once when I was about 9 or 10, I took scissors to an aunt's living room drapes. I didn't like her, but that was a little extreme.

How old is Zach?

Ooh, sounds like really bad anger issues. Zachary is your oldest isn't he?

Whoa.... that's not cool. The cutting the hair thing, kids do that, heck Aundrea has tried to cut her own hair a couple of times over the years. But rock.... car scratching.... did he think it could be washed off or something?

Shelly, I think Ryan is her eldest child. Zach is the middle one, maybe about 7 years old. The oldest one is a young teen, then Gabi who is 4 or 5.

Oh, boy! I would have been upset too... That's not an inexpensive fix to make!

Actually, our oldest daughter went through something like that when she was about six. KaeEll, you reminded when you mentioned the curtains. It was a series of small things, including taking scissors to the curtains in her room, that made me go, "hmmm...."

We hauled her to a child psychologist who said that she needed more one-on-one playful time with the parents -- silliness time when she could decompress. So we made that effort, and things smoothed out.

Well... Until she hit middle school, that is.

I really don't think he did it because he was angry, he's 7. He just likes to always be into something. He thought we could fix it, didn't realize it would be permanent.

He and the neighbor kid usually come up with alot of schemes between the two of them.

I do think my husband should spend more time with him. My husband needs to better organize his time, he's says he's always busy and yet I can do 50 chores to his one. you all know how that goes! He's the turtle I'm the hare around here.

We've got our work cut out for us as parents with Zach that's for sure!

I'm sure like Brandon said, he probably thought that it could be washed off. However, don't deceive yourself! Children that age can be very angry indeed. Many years ago, I knew a little boy who was diagnosed with ulcers at the age of SIX...

I just had a talk with him, he says he wasn't mad or anything, he thinks we can just paint it the way we paint our walls.
