Ahhhh, Saturday. No rest though-I'll be cleaning and grocery shopping today of course. I found some new recipes in the Real Simple magazine that I can't wait to try.
A friend of mine tried some of them the other day, and tried to get me to do the Moroccan Lamb Salad with carrots and mint, but I don't do lamb. But, I thought of you all here. I know we have some lamb eaters here. She said it was really delish. If ya'll would like it, I can certainly post it.
I also told another friend I'd pass along a thing one of her friends is doing for a no-kill animal shelter in Atlanta. Visit, and pass the word along if you don't mind. http://blog-wize.livejournal.com/
Hi Jojo!! We eat lamb twice a year, so if you could post the recipe, I'll use it next time I buy some. We had lamb at Easter and again a few weeks ago, so it'll be Easter again for the next time. Ted lived in New Zealand for a while back in his single days, taught skiing at Mt. Cook, ate lamb every single day and got thoroughly sick of it, hence the rare use of it now. But the rest of us love it!
Plans today? We got up really early and finished part one of the Saturday errands, back home by 10 so Ted could watch the Tour de France finish. We're going to eat a bit of lunch, then off for part two of errands. My guys all drove up to a cousin's cottage for a family (father's side) picnic, but not Mike, as he has a friend here visiting from Auckland. Ted and I made our excuses a month ago. I just didn't want to go.
Looks like everybody will be coming over for dinner tomorrow, with the exception of Tony's family. We're taking them out for lunch on Wednesday right after Vanessa and I get matching henna designs painted on our arms. I'll see if I can post something to give you an idea of what they look like. They're very subtle and beautiful, last about 4 weeks before fading away. Anyway, they'll be leaving for Wisconsin this Friday for a month at Elkhart Lake.
I like to try new recipes too! I made home-made cheesecake for the very first time, it had a ginger-cookie crust and pears in the cheese mix. Very yummy!
We are going camping for 3 days, then home to clean and prepare for the huge party.
