Wednesday

Another beautiful morning here. I hope we get lots of these before the real weather changes move in.

This morning at 11:30, I have to pick up my little one from school and take her home, wait for d-i-l and son to get back from an appointment, so I'll run my Y&R recording after that. Then it's over to my parents' to take my mother to her favourite store where she bought an autumn coat a couple of weeks ago - if you pick it up today, there's a $50 coupon in it for you, so that's what we're going to redeem this afternoon. (I'm not crazy about that drive.)

Along the way today, I should probably throw in a couple of laundry loads and figure out what's for dinner tonight. No more leftovers, thanks, lol.

What's on your agendas today? Anything exciting?

The weather is beautiful again today.

I have a doll club event this Saturday, and I really need to be doing many things to prepare for that, but can't concentrate on it!

I really am not sure what the weather is like today. It was chilly when I got to work. But I kind of work in a cave and have no clue what it looks like outside, kind of sad huh.

Not a lot going on today, I was really busy at work yesterday and then not today. Oh well, I am still putting finishing touch ideas for the ladies luncheon at church this coming Sunday. I need to go in Saturday to set the tables up. I can't do it before because the men at our church have a Mens Breakfast and I don't want them to ruin my stuff. I think I need to go get some fake flowers to put on the table.

Kae try and have a good time shopping. And Moore I hope you can find a way to concentrate long enough to get all your work done for the dolls. I love looking at your dolls

Argh! After rushing around earlier to accommodate picking up Vanessa, I got a call at 10 past 11 to say there was no need to pick her up as the appointment ended early. I'm watching Y&R now, and it's GOOD, Shelly!! I missed the first of it but tuned in ar 20 after the beginning.

Moore, please be sure to post pictures of those beautiful dolls.

Yeah, I read some recap on SOC and whoever does it is not even close to being in the same ballpark as yours. When I read yours I feel as though I watched a lot of the episode. So when I do watch it I enjoy it more for some reason. Weird huh

Here are some pictures that I took of the cases with Jim's camera. I'm also posting pictures of the four patterns we used.

The POINT of the cases was to (1) inspire new membership to the club (which is what Saturday's event is about too -- it's an open house, and (2) to show how many variations there can be when the same pattern is put into the hands of different dollmakers.

It appears, in the cases, that more than four patterns were used, but the "Basic Body" pattern had twelve different costume designs, and those pattern covers are also shown. The dolls go from the very simple to the more complex because we didn't want to scare anyone off.

You'll notice that with the chatelaine pattern, one of our dollmakers turned it into a kangaroo, but it IS based on the same chatelaine pattern!

I also have some close-ups of a few of the dolls, but haven't flipped them yet...

Oh -- also -- the pictures were taken with the doors to the cases open so that light wouldn't reflect off of the glass, and that's why you see a gap between the two sides of the main case. It doesn't look so empty when the cases are closed.

Hmmm...

I thought that the case pictures would be larger. Let me try to put them in a separate post to see if it makes a difference.

Nope, didn't help, so I removed them.

Hmmm...

Okay, I tried a couple of different things, and it didn't help, so if you want to see a larger version, I'll email it to you! LOL...

Well both Kae and Moore replied to your last post. Though I too at least wonder where Brandon is. Jody was just here last night, Jess has a lot on her plate, we all know how many hours Sophia has to work and Herbst hasn't been here in awhile. Does anyone here hear from him?

And as far as the 2 person board thing, there are 3 of us who visit this board religiously. I can't say anything for the other 2 but it really means a lot to me to be able to have this place to come visit and even share problems with.

Tina, we all here try to be kind and supportive of one another, to cheer, to commiserate, to offer advice when asked, and just chatter away about nothing at all. That's what this board has evolved into, a far cry from the soap board it started out as. And everyone, as far as I know, is free to post what we please with the one and only rule that Jessica imposed over 2 years ago, and that was to be kind to each other. I think we all have been.

There is no reason to keep saying that you ought to be blogging what you post here as most of what's posted here is just chatter amongst us all, some days only amongst a few, on others, a few more.

I'd love to see some of the other members pop in here with more regularity too. Maybe they will when they have a chance to.

I don't always reply to every comment, partly because I usually forget halfway through my replies what all I had intended to say in the first place, once I begin down another track. If someone doesn't reply to my comments, I don't take offense. People get busy, they have a lot on their minds, and sometimes they just read the comments, process them, and perhaps mention them two weeks later. Or maybe I was talking about something that they weren't especially interested in. That's okay...!!! Rather than take offense, I ought to apologize for picking a boring subject!

As I've posted many times before, I rarely post about soaps over here because I have to be on SOC a lot, so I make my comments over there. I'm too lazy to post the same thing twice. What I DO tend to post over here, where soaps are concerned, are my rants on TSJ, or more recently, my posts about AMC when I was trying to bring KaeEll up to speed on who the new faces are.

However, I've been a little more tempted to post over here about OLTL lately because I hardly know anyone on the OLTL big board anymore, and I'm too busy with the AMC board to try to weed through all of the threads on the other one. I just don't have the time!

Primarily, I come over here to socialize...

Sometimes the posts remind me of my girlfriend who moved to Florida. She has a habit of calling me, theoretically to talk, but then drives me nuts when I ask her what's going on, and she says, "nothing.........." So, we talk about nothing! LOL...

KaeEll, it sounds as though you had a busy day today, but I think that with your babysitting, your various commitments to your parents (both scheduled, and otherwise), your sons' moves, and your plumbing issues, you're busy pretty much every day!

Moore I use SOC a lot to chat about soaps too. Mainly because I haven't been watching AMC or OLTL as often as I use to which leaves GH which I don't even think Brandon watches anymore and Y&R which is why it is the one soap on this board that is heavily discussed because both myself and Kae watch it whenever we can.

And moore your subjects aren't boring for me, I just love when both you and kae talk about the many adventures of your kids. I am weird though, I love reading about other people

LOL!!! Shelly, that's the way I am about looking at other people's family photos. I love to see other people's families.

All I can say to you is: pay CLOSE attention to the experiences that KaeEll and I are discussing now because children don't stay young for very long. Before you know it, you'll have a teen (or several...), or an adult child who's going through all of the issues that KaeEll and I are currently trying to deal with.

And, I'm weird about something else too. When I was little, I always had elderly people around me, and I loved listening to them talk about any subject, whether it was remembering things that happened in their past, or current topics. And, I'm talking about "OLD" people, not youthful ones like KaeEll and me! LOL... I'm talking about into their seventies, at the very least. That's probably why Myrtle Fargate is one of my favorite characters on AMC. She reminds me of a lot of the women I knew when I was growing up.

As far as the older women thing I am the same way. I just love hearing/reading other people's experiences.

Moore, you can rant about TSJ any time, lol. I can not stand that actor in that role, and I think he is the main reason I have such a hard time watching OLTL whenever I put my mind to it, lol.

No, I'm not all that busy every day. I have flurries of craziness, but then I have to stay pretty quiet for the next day or two or I get sick. Lots of what I have to do is somewhat stressful (my parents) or physically demanding (running around after little ones). The emotional roller coaster the guys put me on is almost old hat now. Those kids need to settle down, get married to a nice STABLE lady and make babies they can afford sitters for, lol.

(BTW, thanks for the doll pics. So whimsical and fun. Love the scissor dolls.)

I don't always respond to every post either, and not because I don't care, but usually for some other reason - take your pick of Moore's reasons or add any number of other excuses. I don' t take offense either if posts of mine go unread or scroll into oblivion with no reply. It just happens.

And by the way, virtually every one of the old OLTL buddies over at SOC have stopped watching that soap! I was over there on the weekend for a little while, taking a breather from slogging in the kitchen, and I was so surprised to see not one single familiar name in the users' list. Higley really did do a lot of damage to that story, didn't she!!

Hey all!

I'll just say, I don't post about soaps, because I don't watch them anymore. They all irritate me. I keep up with spoilers, and that's about it.
And if I don't respond to something someone has posted, I'm not trying to be rude. I can either forget or just don't know what to say.
I won't coddle anyone's insecurities about being ignored. I've been ingored plenty. I don't post during the day, so there is plenty of times that I post on the thread of the day at night, but no one reponds because they've moved onto the next thread of the day. No big deal. I don't get my feelings hurt. I used to get my feelings hurt, but came to the realization that it wasn't anyone's intention to hurt my feelings. Once I let go of that insecurity, I felt much better.
Yes, the board has slowed down. But is it a 2-person board? Hardly. I see a group of good friends who share their day to day life stories with one another. I cherish these friends and feel very lucky to know them. (I guess I could say, you all. LOL.)

Moore, I love the pics of the dolls! I wish I could things like that. I once took a crafting class, and was actually informed by the instructor that maybe I wasn't suited for crafts. Ha! Tell me about it! I actually think she was trying to tell me...Please don't ever take a crafting class again. Hehe. NO problemo, lady. Don't have to tell me twice! LOL.

Kae, you may not be that busy everyday, but you sure seem to be! I think I would need to be hooked up to a Red Bull IV to get through your days!

I'm watching the Republican Nat Convention right now, and I must say. I used to actually like Rudy Giuliani. After that speech..not so much.
