Our little Maltese puppy, 7 years and 3 months old, died peacefully this morning in our son's arms, at the vet clinic where we had taken him since he became a member if our family 6 years ago. God bless Champers, a beloved friend and sweetheart.
Thank you for your kind wishes this past week. It's all over now, rest his little soul. Good bye Champers Chester Field.
Thank you so much, Jojo. It's been a very teary week, but he's resting now with all those bacon cookies and milk bones and sleeping on down comforters. He was really loved and had a wonderful life with us.
Champ was my hairdresser's doggie. She had an argument with the salon owner so her father built her a salon in her basement. She bought Champers. Every time I went to have my hair done, Champers would sit on my lap and lick me the whole time. The hairdresser became pregnant, split with baby daddy and couldn't cope. She gave Champ to me and we had hm since his first birthday in July of 2001. Chloe (our poodle) fell in love with him and they were inseparable. Chloe is mourning her loss very much too. When we boarded them at the doggie place a couple of summers ago, the owner there asked if Champ was Chloe's boyfriend, lol. He sure was!
It's the end of another era here. We'll see what's next.
KaeEll, I've been gone all day today, and just now saw your post. I'm SO sorry that you've been through this terrible ordeal, and know how much it hurts to lose a furry child. It sounds from your post that everyone was finally onboard with the decision that needed to be made, as painful as that decision was.
I'm assuming that it was Nick who held Champ, and am wondering how he's doing. I know that he was having a terrible time with this conclusion, but I imagine that these past few days convinced him that it was the right thing to do.
It still hurts, though...
And how is Chloe?
How are YOU?
Champers Chester Field. What a beautiful name. I love the name Chester! He's a happy little puppy now, with all of those heavenly doggie treats, and angels to pet him.
You did the right thing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, and with little Champ who's too busy romping around heaven to care!

Thank you so much, sweet friends. It really is a heart's ease to read your kind words.
We'll all be okay in a while. Chloe is depressed and asleep upside downright beside us in the den. We're watching My Cousin Vinnie for a few chuckles. Mike went to see Burn After Reading with a friend. I'm looking forward to hearing his reaction to it.
We're getting a ton of rain here!! You too where you are? Ike's tail has hit us.
Thanks again. It has meant so much to hear from you.
