Another beautiful early autumn morning up here. My fax machine is screwed up. I was trying to enter the fax line number and it entered gobbledy gook digits so I'll have to run down to the Hasty Market to send those darn thing. Argh. Quell pain.
I'm baby sitting this morning from noon till about 4. D-i-l is trying to organise her house and run some needed errands without the little kidneys nipping at her heels. Since Tony has been in Calgary all week, she hasn't had a break at all. He gets home late tonight as does Mike who is taking a long weekend away from West Virginia. He prefers 10 hour days 4 times a week rather than a nine to five Monday through Friday. We'll see how long that lasts, lol.
What's up today, kids? Anything exciting?
Oh, Jess, I mailed you those scrubs yesterday and they ought to arrive at your house by next Friday, October the 1st. They are so cute! Hope the sizes are right for the children - a size four for Bethany and 24 months for Aidan. I threw in some surgeon's hats for fun, blue for the boy and pink for the girl. What a zoo at Sick Kids! Such a busy, busy place, but their gift shop is wonderful and I had to stop myself from going a little crazy in there. They had hand knit sweaters that were adorable for little ones!! And the books! It's a very good thing that I don't walk by that hospital every day.
That is cute, Jessica you will definitely have to post pictures of the little ones. I still am not completely decided about Jolene, still thinking the princess route.
Today is another day at work, thank goodness tomorrow is Friday. I really need to get use to being tired and allowing myself to sleep. I still have a hard time going to bed before 11 and I wake up at 630. Which is fine normally but now I am constantly sleepy. I gotta tell you I will be happy when the sleepiness goes away.
Since I was down at the hospital, I picked up an extra set for Vanessa. Here's a picture with the hat, same hat as I threw in for Bethany. Aidan's hat is a little different in blue with elastic around the edge.
Haha, they laughed when I said I picked him because he was at the hospital I liked and he had a cool name...
I do have to say about our board, I don't know what it is but tension seems to have decreased over the last month or so. I didn't even realize that it was there until it wasn't anymore.
Shelly, it IS very peaceful around here lately. Everyone just seems to be having a nice time, relaxing and chatting.
KaeEll, I'm going to try that salmon penne recipe tonight. Our son is coming for dinner, and had requested his Dad's spaghetti. I told him that I had something better, involving pasta, smoked salmon, and capers, and also included a copy of the recipe. Both Jim and son replied, "that sounds way better", so we're going to give it a try.

Let me know how all liked the penne. It is so yummy!!
Well, I've had an interesting day so far. We lost power on the street for half an hour, right in the middle of a laundry and trying to post in here. Then it was time to leave for errands and baby sitting. I opened the washer and dryer doors, unplugged my computer and left. I had exactly 35 minutes to get to my son's. Flat tire, again. I had one yesterday too but the guys from the auto club said I only needed to watch it, filled it up, said I was good to go. I called a taxi. I got the banking done, stopped by the little sandwich shop for take out lunches, rode to my son's place. Nobody home. Taxi was gone. So I sat on the porch and ate my sandwich. D-i-l arrived half an hour later with apologies. Vanessa was cranky. Quentin was all over the place. Anyway, Nick called a couple of hours later and said if I wanted a ride home, he could come and get me - that was a bit after 2, so I came home, disappointing my d-i-l who had yet to leave on her whatevers. And now CAA is here again. This guy says he can fix my tire. And it's HOT out - 89 degrees Fahrenheit. Argh. But the WORST part is that during the hydro blackout, my DVR wouldn't work (obviously) and I missed recording Y&R. I'll have to try to watch it at 4:30.
Some days...
And yep, nice and relaxing here, just a jolly bunch of pals gabbing away about nothing in particular some days and earth-shaking on others. *hugs*
I'll say you've had a crazy day! How many things can go wrong in the course of just few hours, for heaven's sake?!
It's raining here, and very chilly. I'm trying to get some stuff done in preparation for our rescheduled club event on Saturday. I'd like to be taking a little nap instead...

Its chilly here too, doesn't it seem like winter just ended and now we are bracing ourselves for a bad one. In CT it seems to have gotten cold too early, which doesn't bode well for winter as far as I am concerned.
And Kae I agree with moore, how many things can go wrong in such a short time. Your a perfect example of that rain and pouring phrase.
Aww yay Karen!! Thank yo so much! I can't wait for sleeping beauty to wake up so I can show them to her. OMG yesterday was just .. well .. I slept for 2 hours, took hubby to work, came home and sat with the kids for about 2 hours, met hubby for lunch, then came home to shop and went back to get him .. then went to work .. what's this sleep stuff lol
