Hello all! It took me three times to try to start this thread. URGH. Something is definitely up with the board. Maybe our tech whiz Branny can figure out what's wrong with it tomorrow. After I initially posted yesterday, I couldn't get back on all day.
Kae, polishing silver? For 4 hours? Were your poor fingers give out after all that?
Moore, glad Jim is having a great time. And the Apache Trail doesn't sound too appealing to me either. Heh.
I was uber bored this morning and got out and shoveled the mounds of snow that accumulated on my porch and steps this morning. Jackson played in it for a bit, and it took us a good 10 minutes to get him all bundled up in his numerous socks, 2 shirts, pants, snowsuit, 2 gloves and boots. And he ended up only staying out for about 15 minutes. Oh well. He's in for good I think, LOL. Too cold.
I cleaned the entire place yesterday, and we painted some mini-pumpkins and put up a few halloween decorations, so we're just lazing around today. Jack is playing with his legos, and I'm going to snuggle in with some cocoa and a good book. Football is also on, of course, so I'll have that on in the background.
Jim is in the sky as I write this. He checked in from Denver (not a direct flight on this leg), and said that there's snow in the mountains. He says they took LOTS of pictures, so hopefully I'll have some for you guys soon.
I know what you mean about posting lately. I replied to KaeEll earlier this morning, and it was all purged!
It's an absolutely spectacular October day here. The sun's bright (but a little lower in the sky), and the temperature is at 74*. Perfect!

I was having a bit of a hard time getting on yesterday or switching from topic to topic so I just gave up. I had a busy weekend. My Leukemia walk was Saturday. We raised over 700 bucks. Thats pretty big to me, especially since only 2 of us raised any money. A special thanks to Moore for donating.
The drive back up from MD was a pain yesterday because I kept getting or wanting to get sick. I really hope that this part of the pregnancy doesn't last all 9 months like it did last time. Ugh..
Kae how did your Thanksgiving turn out? I think for our thanksgiving this year we are going up into Boston. I think we are going to the Cheers bar for dinner. Totally nontraditional but with Vinnie gone I don't think i will feel much like cooking a lot. So I won't.
I'm going to keep good thoughts going that your queasies will go away soon. You're very wise to make alternative plans for Thanksgiving, though. This is not a time to push yourself. Keep in mind, the last time you went through this, you didn't already have another little one scampering around, and that can wear you out just by itself! Adding the challenges of a pregnancy can definitely drain a young mother of all her energy, even before throwing in the obligations of the holiday season.
KaeEll, how did everyone like your sweet potatoes? After all the trouble you went to in order to find the darned things, I hope that they were praised to the hilt!

Argh - my post was purged, too. All went beautifully, thanks guys. Wonderful dinner, quell mess today, though. Lots of leftovers, had pumpkin pie for breakfast, feet hurt and my hair smells of turkey (all that basting). We have Indian summer - absolutely gorgeous. Poor Jojo - snow in October? Ugh. And the freakin' "orange things" (now official name for them around here) were excellent. I used extra ginger on them this time and they were delicious.
Highlight of the evening was teaching Vanessa how to express the whipped cream from the aerosol tin. It is now her official job, and she loves it, lol. Everyone had a little pie under their mountain of whipped cream. After dinner I took her into my bedroom - we have an "activity" in there (Montessori speak for a lesson) we call "lip gloss". I put blusher and gloss on her and she does my hair, then we use my powder compact on each other followed by perfume and hand lotion. I may not have had any daughters to raise, but I'm making up for it now, lol.
Congratulations, Shelly!! Way to go! Did you celebrate Jolene's bd too?
That's the spirit, KaeEll. Having a granddaughter in some ways may be better than doing these girlie things with a daughter because you have more of the fun times with fewer disciplinary responsibilities!
I'm glad that "the orange things" worked out well.
I've just finished looking at a lot of pictures from Arizona, and some video clips. There are more that are currently trapped in the video camera that can't be downloaded until an attachment wings its way up from North Carolina. It was accidentially left down there from a couple of months ago!
I'm trying to figure out how I can provide everyone one with videos of that scary part of the Apache Trail. Scary, but breathtakingly beautiful. I think that the files, even in portions, are too big to post here, but I'm working on it! Maybe I'll have to open a YouTube account...

We sort of celebrated her birthday. She was so funny. She saw all the balloons for the walk and thought it was this gigantic birthday party. So we had a little family dinner party. Next Sunday we will visit the evil Chuck E Cheese with a few of her girlfriends for the kid party.
I am feeling a little better now after getting sick about an hour ago. Not a lot of work here this morning. I think I may do a blog about the weekend.
We passed a stand that had sweet potatoes. I almost stopped and got some just to make fries out of but my mother in law says they don't stay fresh long. So I will just have to scour our stores for good ones.
