I woke up this morning, oddly enough wanting some of the pumpkin donuts from Dunkin. So I got up and got some. They also had some white hot chocolate which is good because when I stepped outside it was awfully chilly.
So this morning we are headed to a pumpkin patch with Jolene. I think she is going to have a great time. We finally got her costume last night. Since we waited so long we couldn't find a whole lot. She finally decided on a monkey costume which is actually Curious George. I think I may even get some face paint for her. I think it will be a good thing because its already too cold here. The monkey suit will keep her nice and warm.
It's a touch nippy here too, but the sun is shining through the golden yellow leaves of the sugar maple in the back - so incredible beautiful. I even took a couple of pictures of it a few hours ago as the sun was coming up (it gets light so late here now, ugh) and have been doing battle with Photobucket as they don't recognise me now, darn thing. I'll try to upload the pics without it if I can remember how. I know it's simple so if I can't do it, will you give me a lesson, please? When I click on the image icon here, it indicates that I need a web address and the images I want to post are on my desktop.
KaeEll, when I post pictures I go down below the open window where I'm writing to where it says "Attach Files", and click that box. It will open an area where you can browse your own computer for files. Once you find what you want to upload, open that file, and it will show up here. Once you've picked out everything you want to post, click onto upload. It will take a minute, but you'll be informed once the files are complete. Then click the "Submit Post" button as usual...
Did I help you or confuse you?
It's gorgeous here today too...

Finally!! Such a dunderhead I can be. Anyway, this is the sugar maple in the back of my house. You can see the Manitoba and Norway maples are still quite green In the early morning sun the sugar maple glistened and I couldn't capture it on film. Some of the red maples around the neighbourhood are spectacular and on my way out to Tony's this afternoon, I'll try to snap a couple more pics to share. This time of year is so fleeting and so beautiful.
Thank you, Moore. These pictures are okay to leave up so no need for my photobucket option of deletion, not that I can get into the darn thing any more for some dumb reason. It says it will send me a new password but it never does, and I've asked for one 7 times now.
Absolutely MAGNIFICENT!! I love this time of year. Glad uploading the pictures worked for you. Gorgeous... Don't you always wish that trees could retain their fall colors for longer than they do? It's so sad to see that burst of color for such a brief period, and then bare branches.
Have you looked in your spam folder for mail from Photobucket? Sometimes stuff you'd normally receive gets randomly sent to spam.

I don't have a spam folder but I have a spam filter and that programme always tells me if it's flagged something. Grrr. Damn machines sometimes drive me nuts.
Anyway, still no photobucket but I think it's safe to leave this next pic up. It's me with the little kidneys at Mike and Nana's birthday dinner on October 4th. We are in the living room here, after dinner, and the rest of the family was still finishing up dessert. The kids had HAD it at the table, so I asked Tony to take a picture of me with them, trying to amuse them and keep them from feeding Chloe more cake. Notice my LARGE glass of wine, lol.
What a CUTE picture of the three of you! You look very happy cuddling the little ones, and also very glam, I might add!
A little sip or two of wine never hurts anything when you've worked so hard to put together a party, and when you're trying to distract the kids. And that glass doesn't look all that huge to me! LOL...

Hey all! It's a tad chilly here too, but it's warmed up much more since last weekend's snow.
I'm just hanging out with Jackson coloring and stuff today. He's nursing the aches as I subjected him a flu shot yesterday. I got mine the day before and was over my aches overnight.
Cute pic Kae!!!! You all look so great! And I'd like some of your wine, please. Hehe. I actually bought stuff to make bloody mary's yesterday. I had never had one until recently and quite surprisingly loved it. I couldn't believe it.
Shelly, pumpkin donuts sound so yummy. I bought some pumpkin Ben and Jerry's ice cream last night. It's quite delish.
Bloody Mary's do sound good. Don't ever get them on airplanes though, unless all you really want is the vodka. I am with Moore, I like em spicy too. Since I can't have any, Jojo you will have to drink one for me.
We went to the patch today. Picked out a pumpkin that looked about the right size. Will have fun carving it and all that.
Then we went to a furniture store here in CT. Finally found Jolene a bed. Got a bunk bed with the futon bottom. Was just over 500 and included the mattresses. Couldn't beat that we thought so we got them. And used our nice truck to just bring them home. Will be nice for Jolene to finally have a big girl bed. Now we have to go get sheets and all that fun stuff.
Kae the colors are beautiful. So many of the trees here have those colors. So gorgeous. And of course the pic of you and the kids is just too cute.
Oh, Shelly -- that's so GREAT that you found a bed! It sounds perfect. You should take pictures for us to see her big-girl room, once you've got it put together with sheets and everything. I remember this stage. I miss it!
I'm glad you mentioned about the pumpkins too. I need to get two for my patio.
Shelly, you're also right about ordering a Bloody Mary on an airplane. I've made that mistake before, and it was disgusting! TOO strong, and too thin. Ewww!! As I said, I like mine really spicy, and really thick. I also want to taste a tang of lemon.
The ex-husband of one of my childhood friends used to make the best Bloody Marys I've ever had. As I recall, he added a little beef broth to the concoction which made them extra rich, gave them salt, and just seemed to tie everything together. Really good, but I have no idea what his proportions were.

The one I had had lemon and jalapeno juices added to it, and it was delicious. After having that one, and a friend's slightly less spicy version, I must say I like them spicy too. I'll certainly drink one for you, Shelly!
Thanks for the airplane bloody mary warnings. Duly noted!
The beef broth is a good idea. The big thing is to remember the celery salt and jalepenos would be good. I bet if you used a little bit of the mixture from chipotle's in adobo would be an interesting take. The chipotles would add a different smoky taste.
I will get pictures. I lost the charger for my camera and so I am SOL until I get a new one. We have Jo's birthday party at the evil place tomorrow. I am putting Vinnie in charge of pictures. He always sits so idle anyways.
We got Tinkerbell sheets for both the top and the bottom and a bed spread just for the one bed for now. Bedding isn't cheap...I am just so happy that Vinnie got this bed before he went to sea. Now we have the crib available for next spring. I was so afraid he would wait til the last minute and by then I would not be able to be in there rearanging furniture. Much better to do it now while I still have energy.
Jo how did the drinks turn out? I have been told that if you add tequila instead of vodka that it is a nice change.
My sister said she went to a wine festival today. Says she is happy, not drunk but happy. I told her I was going to miss that kind of happiness. A really good Sangria sounds really good
I haven't made myself a drink yet. I was waiting until Jack went to bed before doing so, so I could relax with it. I won't be able to try the tequila, as all I have is vodka. I'll let you know how it turns out.
Cool stuff guys. I got some delish Illinois Cellars Apple Wine. I loved it. Added some diet 7 up to it as well and made some spritzers things .. major yum!
Love the pic Kae!!! I really need to put more pics up soon.
