Tuesday

So I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. And I noticed a little spotting. Which of course means I got little to no sleep all night as I waited until I could call my doctor this morning. Only to call the doctors office and be told that I shouldn't have anything to worry about since we heard heartbeats last week. I just don't know. I think that because they are twins I am more paranoid.

So that was my adventurous morning. I just got into work, and it is raining and all gross outside. What a day.

What is everyone else up to today? Where is everyone anyways? Who has an email so that we can get Sophia to pop in and say hello...and Jessica you need to pop in every couple days so that we know that you are alive. Jojo thank you for popping in. Its nice. And Brandon why are you being such a stranger. You have the most interesting job out of all of us, we like to hear the stories about the crazy customers.

Nah, just been busy with lame work, that's all. You know boring times.

Shelly, spotting isn't such a big deal so early on. Try not to worry. I had spotting too with my second and all was well.

It HAS been quiet here. I've been kind of funked out lately with all the changes around me. It's life coming at me from all sides and I feel a little overwhelmed some days. It's getting colder too fast for my liking as well, as winter sets in and days are so short. Nothing to be done about that, lol.

Today is another quiet one until late this afternoon. Laundry, some online chores, a little tidying up and trying to locate one son who is apparently in Whistler now but doesn't have e mail and other than a cryptic text message yesterday saying he was up there, I have no idea how he is doing. His plan was to arrive there by the end of this week when his rent at the staff housing kicks in. Something changed his plans and I'm curious.

Shelly, I can imagine your middle-of-the-night fears, but I'm sure that you and your babies are going to be just fine. When I was five months pregnant with our first, I was also making a bathroom visit, and I had WAY more than some spots (Brandon, don't read any farther: gross alert), but more like a clump of blood. I almost fainted!

It turned out that this was because the placenta was low, covering my cervix. This meant that, if it didn't move up during the course of my pregnancy, that I would have to have a C-section. The placenta DID move up, and the C-section wasn't necessary.

But the experience probably scared a good ten years off of my life!

Speaking of scared, AD missed being in a major accident two nights ago that scared the life out of Jim and me. Thank GOD she's an amazing driver, especially for someone who's still only twenty years old. It was dark, and she was travelling on a major artery at 70+ mph, in the left lane. A black SUV had pulled onto the left shoulder, and people were opening car doors to get out. When she was almost next to the SUV on her left, she noticed that there were several large objects in the road, directly in front of her. She still doesn't know what they were, but they were dark in color, so not immediately noticable from a distance, and were about the size of shopping carts! Her reflexes kicked in; she had only a small window where she could swerve around the SUV (to avoid hitting all of these people who were getting out of the car) to the shoulder before hitting the objects in front of her. If she'd lost control even the slightest, she could have gone into the cement barrier next to the shoulder. Fortunately, she managed to thread her little car in between the SUV and the objects, directly onto the shoulder, and back out onto the road beyond the mystery objects. Several cars behind her followed her path...

Very scary!

Well, I just got back from seeing the doctor. She said all seems okay. She did schedule another ultra sound for tomorrow since at 10 weeks you can't quite hear the heartbeat. So I was probably all worried for nothing. But oh well, thats the benefit of the military, I didn't have to pay for it. My blood pressure was a little high but I think that may be because of the lack of sleep and from being so worried. I think that having twins has made me worry more then I ever have before.

And your right Moore, that is scary. AZ roads can be crazy

Shelly, I'm glad that everything was okay. I'm sure that your blood pressure was a little high just because you'd had a scare. Frankly, walking into a doctor's office can raise a person's blood pressure several points all by itself, especially if you've had to spend a long time in the waiting room! LOL...

Each pregnancy is so different, and having twins makes it all that much more interesting, but probably more worrisome too. As with your first pregnancy, you've never done this before!! It's another "first"... I have NO doubts, though, that you'll deliver two little babies into this world who are going to be just as beautiful and as healthy as Jolene was, when she made her grand entrance!

Good news from your doctor, Shelly! Thank goodness. Moore is absolutely right about the blood pressure thing. Between the worry and just being at the doc's it's no wonder it was elevated a bit.

Shelly, are you going to ask for the gender of the babies down the road? I know if that option had been available when I had my kids, I would have asked, but it sure wasn't back then.

Moore, these adult kids account for all the grey hairs, non? Gah. Crazy drivers are all over the place. When I was learning how to drive, the instructor told me "everyone on the road is crazy except you and me, and I'm not so sure about you", and it stuck with me, lol.

I am definitely going to find out the sex of the babies. I feel like with twins the more prepared I can be the better.

The only reason blood pressure is even an issue is because towards the end of the pregnancy with Jolene my BP was really high. I was actually induced 3 days early. But as much as I hate to say it, when Vinnie leaves I will be getting more sleep. No more getting woken up at 430-5 when his alarm goes off only to fight myself to get that last couple hours sleep before work. Plus, he always hogs the bed. And with him gone I can steal his pillows. I am already getting to where I will be sleeping better propped up. It seems I was just a worry wart. But must not have been that bad if they scheduled me an appt and an ultra sound.

Oh yeah, I need a good twin name to go with Gregory Dean. We have girls names coming out everywhere but Vinnie can't seem to agree on anything for another boy.

Oh Lord, Shelly. I had enough trouble coming up with names for my own kids! LOL...

What are some of the names that you and Vinnie have batted around so far? Maybe we can build from that.

Oh yeah -- KaeEll -- you're absolutely right about adult kids and the grey hair. Give me back my little kids!

Oh YAY!! Baby names!! Remember that you need to run them through that anagram finder so you don't saddle baby with something that scrambles into an unfortunate phrase.
