Good grief, we're quiet here this weekend. Moore, how did the doll thing go yesterday? Did you get it all set up okay?
The meatballs have been simmering in tomato sauce for a few hours now and the house is smelling really good, lol. It's a really old recipe from my grandmother. I don't measure anything, do it all by feel. Here it is:
3 to 4 pounds ground veal 3 pounds or so ground pork about 7 eggs a tub of romano cheese (freshly grated if you can get it) a cup or 2 of bread crumbs quite a bit of basil
Mix together and form into balls - makes about 35 Bake meat balls for 45 minutes at 350 - I used XV olive oil at the bottom of the roasting pans.
Then make some sauce with a few tins of diced tomatoes, a tin of tomato paste and a couple of jars of favourite pasta red sauce, plop in meatballs and simmer for 4 to 6 hours, stirring often. Oh, add some garlic and more basil to taste. Then serve it over some pasta, big green salad and fresh bread.
I'm setting up the tree tomorrow, and hence am still on a deadline! I had some issues Friday with our inventories, and am not certain that they've been properly received. (Strathmore creates bar codes from our lists, so it's important that they're done ahead of time.)
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'll try to check in a bit later!

Hey ladies. Today has been a pretty uneventful day. Had church, came home and became extremely tired all of a sudden. So I napped until a little while ago.
Church was really boring today, I was signed up for the nursery and there ended up being only 1 baby and he fell asleep the whole time. Then we had a mini-budget meeting and those are just never any fun.
Came home and Vinnie is getting his laundry and all done because he heads out tomorrow. What a long 3 months it will be.
Kae that recipe sounds really good. I love good meatballs. Though with it only being me and Jolene for the next few months I would have to cut everything in half
