It's hard to believe, but it's true: Superstars Deidre Hall (Marlena) and Drake Hogestyn (John) are the first two casualties of DAYS's massive budget cuts. In an exclusive interview with Soap Opera Digest, Executive Producer Ken Corday says, "The couple will be happily reunited after a long period of angst and separation and will be off-screen after January for an unknown period of time. Absolutely he would. But something tells me it seems like they were "fired" not flat out, we're done, go the heck away, see ya later type fired. So we're giving you guys a big long unpaid vacation. LOL

That's true. Drake could be a replacement for the priest guy from OLTL if they decided to age him a bit. And Hall... geez she could be just about anything. Imagine whatever her character was sitting opposite Susan Lucci. Kane vs whoever.

Or something similar. I think I am still bitter about the dismissal of Julia Barr to want anyone but her to be Brooke but it could definitely be someone similar. I would rather see her fight over Jack with someone like DH then the young woman who plays Carmen.
