I am happy that I only have a week until I get to start my drive to go see Sharon. But at the same time it seems like I still have so much to do. Ugh..
Stuck at work today, just finished what little work I had. Now I am stuck with nothing to do. Picked up the new SOD will post if anything is any good. The cover has Nick, Sharon and Phyllis on it for mine and Kae's show. Also has a little blurb in the corner about Steve Burton and Becky Hearst complaining about story...Ugh, big babies.
What are you all up to today....Kae I trust you have the usual busy Friday going on, Moore what have you been up too. Brandon did you figure out how you will keep the little one entertained this weekend?
Yeah, the usual Friday thing for me. Ted and I put the lights on the tree this morning and I'm trying to decide if it's more trouble to have a tree trimming get together so I don't have to hang the balls all by myself or just plain do it, lol. I'm a bit of a grinch this year. Christine gave me a hot chocolate maker for Christmas and I need to try it out on my little ones, make some sugar cookies, so I guess I'll have some people over.
I'd almost forgotten how much chaos comings and goings can create in the house. Gah. I'm seriously going to need a couple of weeks to recover from this.
I'll pop back later today when things are quieter. It's kind of busy here right now.
Hey Shelly how's the weather out there? Just read some in New England have a lot of snow.
Just got a text message from the wife, she's 4 hours out from getting up into Canada, been sort of slow going in some areas of Montana apparently. Otherwise all is pretty cool here.

Well we are getting a whole you know what load of rain. I don't think it has actually stopped since sometime Wednesday night. But us here in Groton aren't getting snow. We rarely get as much as most because we are right on the coast. I say I think that the ocean makes it too warm for snow but I think its the other way around because we tend to get ice, not snow. Everyone here is running around crazy because this campus is relatively old and with all the rain people are freaking out about leaks. I just did a document and there seems to be a few already. One of the guys mentioned freezing temperatures which means with all the water from the rain we will have LOTS of ice to deal with this weekend. Thank goodness I got a big ol bag of salt last weekend.
Eeesh, I'm home now after driving all over the place and then just as I thought it was all over, Ted got an urgent work call and couldn't leave to take Mike across town to the pick up point for his tour and so it was left to me. And we were way behind time. Uck, but I'm home now.
Along the way today I stopped off to pick up some veggie samosas and was SO looking forward to having one when I got home but the guys ate them. But I did manage to order the white chocolate Charlotte for Christmas dessert at the samosa place, so I got at least one thing done that I needed to do.
I need a cup of tea. I'll see you all tomorrow.
(Shelly, I'll watch Y&R later and if anything is missing from the SOC recap. I'll let you know.)
KaeEll, I'm glad that Mike is back from NZ. That must make you happy!
I've been busy, and just haven't had a chance to post. Also, our oldest daughter informed us this morning that she was in a car accident yesterday evening (she's okay), but may have totalled her car. It was dark, and pouring rain, and she ended up in a ditch.
It's a miracle that my hair isn't completely white...
I'll try to check in sometime this weekend. Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm alive.

OMG, Moore. Thank goodness it was just the car that was ruined and NCD is okay. Let us know the upshot of the accident.
We're off to do some shopping and errands, nothing exciting. Last night was a busy one with Marilyn here for dinner and a two quick visits from Christine and one son who were borrowing our van to move son out of the family home into a rental place downtown. I chuckle to myself over that darn van as both Ted and I hate the thing and yet it's become a community transport for all the moving kids. If we ever do get rid of it, I'm sure U Haul would benefit, lol.
Jess, where are you? Bran, what did you decide to do with your daughter this weekend? Did wife and s-i-l make it to Lethbridge okay?
KaeEll, I think it's busy times for all of us, with less time to chat! And Bran's probaby VERY busy entertaining his daughter... LOL.
What happened with the accident was completely our daughter's fault, and involved only her car. Just one of those things... Apparently the weather was very bad, and there were multiple accidents on the main road she normally takes home from work, with traffic backed up forever as a result. She decided to take a back route, and during a left turn at an intersection, she over compensated for what she thought was a mistake on her part, and went into a ditch. The left turn was onto a very slight hill, but with the darkness and the pouring rain, and being momentarily confused by oncoming headlights once she'd completed the turn, she thought for one split second that she was too far to the left side of the road. It only takes a second of misperception for something like that to happen, and I've had those moments too when I thought for a moment that I was mistaken, but wasn't. Anyway, she thought that she was too far left, and ended up being too far to the right, and in a ditch!
I think the thing that upsets her most about this is the time of year that it's happened, and the fact that they had really wanted to upgrade her boyfriend's car first, since he's driving a very old hand-me-down Toyota wagon from Jim and me. Now, her car has become the priority if it's declared totalled. We'll see...
Maybe we need that van of yours!!
Okay, it's back to work for me. I have our club holiday party on Wednesday, and AD arrives on Thursday.

Well I am down to my little brother and my dad, I think for them I am taking a page out of Jojo's book and sending them steaks. My brother had an incident with his car a couple weeks ago. He went to a bar and ended up drinking. Well he left the car at the bar and took a cab home, went to the bar the next morning to find the front end of his car all smashed up. And no, no one was nice enough to leave a note. Was probably some drunk backed into his car. My brother drives an infinity, its actually the infinity version of the Nissan Z. So it wouldn't take much to smash up the front end of his car. So needless to say a big bulk of his Christmas money went to the deductible. I was just going to send him a gift card to like Starbucks or something but figured he would enjoy the steaks more, will actually send him the package with the stuffed potatoes. Yum..
So I have my dad, my brother and then my sister and my niece. Neither of those are being shipped as I am heading down that way next weekend. Today I have to head to the UPS store to ship off some stuff and then after that I will be relieved to know that the bulk of my holiday stuff is done...I have had fun but am glad its almost over.
