1) Gov. M. Jodi Rell is going without pay for one day, and hopes her commissioners and managers do the same to help cut costs. Rell is asking approximately 2,500 executive branch managers and appointees to take a day off without pay, which is allowed under state law. She's also hoping constitutional officers, judicial and legislative officials will follow suit.
That's nice and all but you should still be able to pay your staff and not need a day off without pay. Let's see how about, BUDGET properly. All those politicians are getting crazy perks that cost money. How about removing those first?

yeah but at least she is doing something...Its more then most politicians are willing to do. I kind of think that a state like CT that has such insane taxes and such insane tourism shouldn't have financial issues...But I guess no one escapes the bad economy.
You know these "take a day off with no pay", I'm giving this up deals just strike me as publicity stunts. That's all. I'll believe things when I see them TRULY change and not change just because of the bad economy, etc.
