Pretty Snow...

We finally got a little snow down here, and it's pretty. Jim got all ready for work...suit, tie, the whole thing, and left. Ten minutes later, he was home again, after having decided that his little car isn't made for icy roads. So, he's working in the dungeon instead.

He may be home again tomorrow, if we get the icy rain called for tonight. Love it!

Ugh, we have a nasty storm coming our way. Bad enough that I am scrounging to try and find a way to work from home tomorrow. Someone at work yesterday said they were going to name this one. Yuck. I really don't want to be out driving in it. But thankfully Vinnie will be home to do some shoveling.

So glad you got the pretty side of the snow, I miss that. In past winters we got just enough snow that it was pretty, but now we have had WAY too much and I am just tired of it.

Good attitude, Moore, almost good enough to make you a Canadian, lol. But it's the ice that bothers me more than anything here. It's been so cold that salt on the walkways won't do anything and if we get the least bit of sunshine, the bits of snow on the paths melt then freeze again overnight, so it can be downright treacherous. We have to wear these enormous clunky snow boots with massive treads, not particularly fetching, lol.

And don't get me started about driving. We have done so many complete 360 degree spin outs on side streets this winter that it's a wonder I venture out at all. The ploughs do an adequate job most of the time, but it's been a heavy snow winter again and they do get behind. Then there's the parking business, Ugh. With snow drifts on streets, parking spots are cut in half, and if you're lucky enough to find one, chances are you'll have to slog through thigh high piles of the stuff to get onto the sidewalk.

How many days until spring?

Ice scares me too! I'm "loving" the part about having Jim stay home, NOT the ice! Although it does look gorgeous when it coats all the trees.

My kind of snow is the kind that looks pretty when it comes down, covers the ground enough for it to be a snow, and then melts within the next day or two. I don't like the eight inch stuff that hangs around forever, and turns brown.

I hate the ice worse than the snow. It's so dangerous. Unless we're talking about huge snow drifts, and that's a whole other horror.

It's still pretty cold here, but no more snow since Sunday. The ice has calmed and melted a bit though. Not much. But, we're supposed to get another bout of it tomorrow. Yay us.
