Last one in January!! Hurray for winter's back being broken, at least in theory. We're getting more snow this weekend.
Yesterday was a long one as I baby sat for 5 hours and came home to cook dinner we didn't get to eat until after 8. We watched AI, CSI (which I think I really like with Laurence Fishburne) then ran our recording of the new series Lie to Me. By the time the news came on, I was half asleep. Today is the usual, again.
Shelly, the career implications of that year in Bahrain are huge, a factor I hadn't even thought of. I can understand now why you and Vinnie would be considering it so seriously. Good luck!!
I had a nasty bug yesterday that had me in the bed all day. Went to work but was worried enough about the aches and pains that I went to the doctors. I tell you being pregnant with twins makes you more paranoid then usual. So I went and doctor said I had some kind of stomach bug. So I went home and crashed all day.
Feel better, Shelly, and Jojo, hope you had a good refreshing sleep.
I just registered us with the new Time of Use electricity-saver programme here, so if you use your heavy duty appliances during the off hours (according to day of week and time of year), there is a big saving in hydro rates. I usually do laundry after 10 p.m. anyway out of habit (since Ted and I are downstairs watching TV and the laundry room is right there), and turn on the dishwasher just before I go to bed, so we might as well take advantage of the "smart" meter they installed here last year.
It's another cold and dull day up here. We're off to do some Saturday shopping soon, just groceries and dry cleaning, the butcher shop for eggs and chicken, nothing too thrilling.
Mike's off to Christchurch this weekend to visit friends. Nick's surviving the massive lay-offs at Whistler (not anywhere near the numbers of guests at Whistler Blackcombe this winter due to the economy and lack of good snow) but many of his friends have been let go, many have had to return home to mom and dad for lack of money. He posted a really sad Whistler Watch yesterday bemoaning the terrible state of poverty amongst the staff. For him, so far, so good. Keeping fingers crossed here.
Oh Shelly, I'm so sorry that you're not feeling well. That's the last thing you need on top of growing twins, and already being exhausted. Take care of yourself.
And poor jojo! I hope you got some sleep.
KaeEll, I'm so glad to know that Nick is surviving the downsizing. Being laid off would not be a happy moment for him, after going all the way out there. Jim and I worry about NC-daughter because her ad agency had some lay-offs about six months ago. It's scary, and it has most definitely raised her level of stress. Which, in turn of course, has raised ours...

Jojo I also hope that you got some good sleep. I swear that the lack of sleep seems to be the root of evil. It makes you all kinds of sick.
I went to the baby shower for a good friend of mine here at church. She had a huge turn out. I think that it was like 25 people. And their were a few people who couldn't go because they had specified about no kids. If Vinnie hadn't been home I wouldn't have been able to be there.
I fell in love with their house. It was very much a typical New England historical house. I think he said that part of it use to be an infirmary (he is a doctor). And of course the house was made even more beautiful by all of the snow everywhere. Was a very old fashioned house even down to the bathroom. The toilet had like a chain hanging from the bowl which was near the ceiling, and this was how you flushed. It was odd but cool at the same time.
Anyways, I hope that everyone is having a great Saturday
