Happy St. Patrick's Day! Are you wearing green today? Going to any parades? Will you be drinking green beer?? Well, I am not Irish, but have an Irish name by marriage. My husband is less than half Irish. I do wear green, but I do not go out drinking!
I am actually not wearing green and have to stop and think if I sent my daughter to school today with anything green on...I don't think so. How sad. Poor kid. Good thing 4 year olds don't know a lot about the pinching thing.
We have a parade in Mystic on Sunday. Weird that it is so far away but it makes me happy because that means i can go. Last year they had the Budweiser Clydesdale's and it was awesome. This year they are suppose to have Kurt Busch's car in the parade. Anyways, perfect activity for the kids.
Nothing green today, lol. The big parade around here was on Sunday, last weekend. More convenient, I suppose. There are plenty of Irish pubs around and I guess they'll all be jammed packed tonight, but we don't participate.
We used to have a neighbour when I was growing up, wonderful Mrs. Roy, and Irish lady from way back. She always threw the most fabulous parties on the 17th with green drinks and food, shamrocks all over the place, very, very festive, so March 17 always makes me think about her all day long. We're going to her 94th birthday party on the 29th. She's as sharp as a tack and still has her martini every day at 6, and I would imagine she will have a green one today. So here's to you, Mrs. Roy!! Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of us.
