Good morning everyone! How is everyone on this last day of March? Here in Massachusetts, the lawns are beginning to turn green, and the trees are starting to bud. We had a rainy Sunday and Monday, which is hopefully all that Mother Nature needed to jump start our spring.
I have a crazy morning planned. My oldest dog, Tess, is going in for surgery this morning. I am very nervous. She has been losing weight lately, she is VERY fat. I noticed a rather large lump, and took her to the vet's office on Saturday. The large lump is fat, BUT, there is another lump that I did not even notice, that he thinks is cancer. Lipocarcinoma, of all things, which is basically fat cancer. As long as her senior exam goes well, he will try to remove the tumor, and see how invasive it is. I am going to keep my fingers crossed, and hope for the best. She is only nine, so she has a few good years left in her. She is now on prescription dog food, to get the weight off.
My parents are returning from Ireland today. It will be great to see them. They actually stayed longer at Christmas, than they normally do. They did not go back to Ireland until the second week in February. My mother is not going back to Ireland until October, and my father is going back for a few weeks in the summer, to make sure the house is okay.
They are so funny. For Christmas I bought them a Wii. Let's just say that they thought that I need my head examined. I also got the Wii Fit, and some great brain games. My mother loved Nintendo when we were younger, so I loaded her old favorite Tetris on it. Let's just say that they love their Wii, and even had me get them a power cord that could be used in Ireland. My dad does his exercises, and is very busy playing all of the different sports games. My mother fights him for the Wii, so she can play her Tetris. The two of them are something else to see as they compete against each other with the Brain Academy game. And they thought I was crazy to get them the Wii. HeHeHe.....
So funny about your parents and the Wii. We don't have one yet but I can tell you that Jolene wants one. We can't go to Best Buy without her wanting to play Mario Cart or whatever it is.
I will keep my fingers crossed as well as say a little prayer for you and Tess. Seems like something that should be fairly simple to fix, I will pray that that remains the case...
We had a rainy Sunday, not so much Saturday. I guess we probably got just the tail of what you had. As long as we don't get what poor Jojo and Brandon have been getting I will be happy. I like the rain, helps push my daffs and tulips along. Although we still have a naked patch of dirt where the grass should be...Need to go get more grass stuff to make it pretty.
That is so cute about the parents and Wii. I'd love to see a picture of that! And good luck to sweet Tess at the vet.
Mike's friend from NZ was stuck overnight in Chicago so he has just now left to go collect her from the airport. The invasion has begun.
We learned last night that Ted's van that we intended to have fixed and give to Mike, isn't worth fixing, something about a radiator, so Mike has found himself a Volvo station wagon he thinks he'll buy. The sooner the better as this car sharing business is a real pain in the butt. I warned Ted that hanging on to a 10 year old car was foolish, that fixing it up in this case was throwing away good money after bad, but what do I know. Now there's a mad scramble and it's MY car that's in use all the time leaving me to call for a cab if I need to get somewhere. Pisses me right off. But I need to pick my issues carefully and not make too much of a fuss over this one. Gah.
Those lily pie banners are so cute! Will it update automatically every day?
Maya, NZ girl, is now here and asleep as her bio clock is 18 hours ahead or something crazy like that. Her bags didn't make it however, so Mike took her over to Walmart to pick up some undies and a change of clothes for tomorrow.
Sophia please keep us posted about Tess. We're such animal lovers here, and KaeEll and I have been through it with pets, so we know how worried you must be. I hope that having your parents arrive will help a bit, but maybe they're actually visiting at the most stressful time for you! I'll be holding onto lots of positive thoughts for your little Tess.
KaeEll, that's just too annoying to be without a car! I'd go mad...
Poor Maya. How disappointing to be a luggage victim, especially when she's VERY far away from home. I hope they turn up soon!
