It's snowing. Blech. This is what happens because we frolicked in the sunshine yesterday.
Janice is coming to town for her birthday lunch today (her bd is on the 10th but that's Good Friday this year and everything will be sealed up tight. It's a major holiday here.) so I won't be around for a live Y&R recap.
How was the diaper shower, Shelly? Anything else going on that's new today? Do you guys have any of this ridiculous weather system in your neck of the woods? Moore, I know you have cherry blossoms in bloom now. Please don't gloat.
Yes -- the cherry blossoms are in bloom, and I'm not going to gloat because today is gloomy, rainy, and I'm hearing a bit of thunder. The Cherry Blossom Parade has already taken place (I was in one once, by the way, and almost froze, in my sleeveless gown), so we're officially into spring. I haven't been across the bridge to see the blossoms along the Tidal Basin, but I did see a bunch of blossoms in Chevy Chase last week, when we put up the doll exhibit. Gorgeous!! One house had a very old tree that was just spectacular, and the shape of the tree was so beautiful that I had to force my eyes back onto the road and traffic flow.
I'm sorry about the snow. Really sorry... But KaeEll, it's CANADA!! I'm in Virginia... Canada = snow, and Virginia = warmer, sooner. The Great Frozen North versus the gateway to the American South. I'll run outside, and clip some still-lingering forsythia blooms, and stick them in a vase, in your honor. That ought to cheer you up a bit!
I haven't decided yet what the day is going to bring, but I think it's going to be a quiet one. It's probably perfect for cleaning out closets, or something else along those lines, but THAT's not going to happen! Now, I'm going to slink off, and go feel guilty...

Yuck about the snow, I still fear that we have one snow left before we are done. I really hope I am wrong. I am hoping that since Sophia has been a New Englander longer then me that she is right and we are done. I need warmth and spring. My sister posted pictures of daffodils on her facebook. She is funny, said she didn't know what they were but just took pictures because they were/are pretty. You can tell that she is a desert rat through and through. Mine haven't even started to bud yet let alone bloom so it was nice to see the daffs in VA in bloom. I am actually hoping mine take a little longer to bloom so that there is a chance we will still have flowers when my mom gets here. She will get a kick out of it.
Anyways, diaper shower was nice. We got so many diapers it was unreal. I truly don't think we will need to buy diapers for a long time. Like 6 months.
Nothing else going on, Pfizer had some excitement this morning because apparently the power was out off and on all weekend. I got to work this morning to lights on but no computer. Yuck.
Good sunny Monday! Its it a bit cool here in Houston today. I went to the doctor for an overdue check-up this morning. Tomorrow I have to back for more tests. I will be teaching swimming this afternoon into early evening.

Shelly, we should be out of the snow cycle, and you are even further south than me, so start to think about putting the turtlenecks and sweaters away. Heck, go pick up some sandles for your little one. If memory serves me correctly, all the great style and sizes should be in the stores for her now, and with those twins around the corner, I suggest going to get them now!
Moore, I love your post " But KaeEll, it's CANADA!! I'm in Virginia... Canada = snow, and Virginia = warmer, sooner. The Great Frozen North versus the gateway to the American South." That is GREAT! Thank you for the chuckle.
It is pouring rain here today. They put opening day for the Red Sox off until tomorrow. There were a number of sad, dejected faces walking around the office, instead of being at Fenway. I'm just glad that I did not have to deal with the traffic from the game, combined with rain. It would have made the commute even worse.
Sundancer, I hope that your tests go well. I'm sorry that I don't know you, you must have joined while I was in my MIA phase.
Anyway, I am going off to feed the dogs, and myself.
Sophia

Thanks Sophia. I am going with you, that and the green grass...We had lots of rain yesterday as well. Yuck. And Yuck about the Red Sox....although at least the Yankees lost right? Made my day anyways.
Yes, I need sandals. Think I may go get a cheap pair of crocs just for the rest of my pregnancy. I have been wearing flip flops to work the last couple of days and am afraid that someone will complain about my feet not being covered enough. I can't buy actual sandals for myself just yet because of the wonder that is swelling. Yuck.
And yes, they have sandals for Jolene. They actually have jellies out now, you guys remember those. Not so comfortable but cute anyways.

Well, we had our taste buds all set for some Ma Maison quiche and salad, but it was Monday and Ma Maison is closed on Mondays, so off we went to Java Joe's and had their special, spinach pie and side salad. It was filo pastry with feta and spinach inside, a real disappointment as it was too greasy. Then the salad had too much red cabbage in it making it tough and the dressing was vile. The second I got back home I had to brush my teeth to get rid of the taste of cheap oil and powdered herbs from the dressing. Yech. So much for Java Joe's, lol. Thank goodness the company was good.
And with tongue in cheek, may I point out that where I live up here in this vast wasteland, the latitude is almost exactly that of Boston, Mass. :)
KaeEll, I spent two years thirty miles north of Boston, so I am NOT impressed by your argument about Toronto! It's ALL a frozen tundra, as far as this Virginia girl is concerned! LOL...
