Sunny Sunday

Yesterday was just nuts around here. We finally got furniture rearranged and that included almost every room in the house except for the bathrooms, lol. Anyway, when we were all finished, Marilyn popped over and we all sat down in front of the fire for a glass of wine. Marilyn and I had white, Ted uncorked his red, but a teeny speck of it went under the glass of the coffee table and he insisted on getting it off. He had to turn the coffee table upside down and flip it over. He knocked his wine off the side table onto the carpet, second time he's done that in a week. Oh yeah, and all over the brand new yellow ottoman I just had recovered. Typically he made that mess everyone else's problem and we all scampered around with paper towels, cans of soda and boxes of salt. Maya, bless her heart, got every trace of red wine out of the ottoman cover and amongst Marilyn, Ted and me, we got it off the rugs. Geez.

Today we're off to get a new bed frame and take it to Mike's place, see it for the first time. Nick and the French girl have yet to surface for the day. She's VERY pretty. That's about all I know, lol.

No word from Shelly yet, so I assume she's hanging on. What's up today?

Kae, I'm glad you are getting all settled. What was used to get the red wine stains out?

First we used a whole bunch of Bounty paper towels to sop up the wine (big glass), then soda water, 2 tins, more paper towels, then salt. As it turns out, there is still a bad stain. I'll post a picture of it. The cleaning lady got the last stain out by scrubbing so I'm hoping she'll be able to do the same on this one. I don't know what she uses other than elbow grease, however.

Thanks, Kae. My daughter and son-in-law (Audrey and Adam) rent out two condos. When the tennants left one unit, they also left candle wax on the carpet. I told them how they could get that out and it worked. Put an old cloth over the wax and iron it. This may need to be repeated a few times.
