Tuesday is here

Wow this place has been quiet lately. I hope everything is okay with everyone. Things are still moving to slow for my tastes in my world. I have an appointment today to check on things. Am having minor pains and more discharge (again, sorry Brandon) then I would like. I think I am going to try and talk the doctor into letting me be induced. I am tired of being in pain and not sleeping. Tomorrow we hit 37 weeks and from what I read 37 weeks is when everything is developed.

So that is my update. Like I said I will update more as it happens. Haven't been online much lately because my mom is here and I have been spending time with her. Thankfully my fellow mods on SOC are awesome because they have been really good about me needing this time off.

Anyways, what is new with everyone else?

It's been a little nuts around here with Nick, Mike, Maya, and the French girl, but Nick drove her to the airport early this morning so it's settling down a bit now. Shelly, I've been thinking about you and the babies and almost phoned you last night to ask how things were going, but Ted's been tying up the phone lines like mad lately with work. He was on the phone all Saturday and Sunday night too.

Yesterday morning I had to drive Ted to Mike's place so he could pick up the van. Mike rented a flat right around the corner from where we lived for almost 20 years, where the boys grew up, the house we lost when everything fell apart. I made the mistake of driving down our old street and had a bad visceral reaction to it. I hadn't realised what feelings I had been harbouring until I had to pull over, almost lost my breakfast. That wrecked my whole day.

Anyway, not much else. The new gardeners were here this morning and the head guy said he'd "take care of" the bald spots in the back. I'll let you know what he does with them.

It's Cinco de Mayo, and THAT means it's Jim's birthday! He's taking the day off, so I made him a massive brunch, and provided him with a Mimosa or two... I also reminded him, now that he's moved into a brand new decade, that this makes me his trophy wife!

Although we should probably be having a massive celebration, we're not because not all of the kids can be here at once, so Jim and I are going to try a new Mexican restaurant tonight, and indulge in some Margaritas. We're not even inviting our son to join us because Jim felt weird that one out of three would be celebrating with us when the other two would have liked to, but couldn't. Our son is good with that, and doesn't drink anyway, so I don't think he would enjoy our desire to party a bit.

NC-daughter's boyfriend informed us that pictures from his play are now posted, so I'm giving everyone the link. I think you'll recognize Loren from pictures I posted when he was in the play "Don't Drink the Water", but anyway he's the tall, slender brunette guy. He's also in black-face with a wig later on.

The play, "Lend Me A Tenor", is a comedy about a famous Italian tenor who is supposed to do a performance of "Othello" (hence the black makeup later on), but who becomes...um...ill, and Max (Loren's character) steps into the role. It's hilarious, with lots of sex romps, cases of mistaken identity, etc., etc., and Loren did a great job. Also, just so you don't have a case of mistaken identity yourself, the actor who played the role of the Italian tenor is also costumed like Othello, but he's older than Loren, and heavier set.

I'm also attaching a couple of pictures of NC-daughter, and one taken at Christmas with NC-daughter and AZ-daughter in front of the tree. NC-daughter is very proud of Loren!

Lend Me A Tenor pics.

Happy BD, Jim!! How doe he feel about being in his 40's now? *snort*

Yesterday was my Nick's bd and he celebrated it in Niagara Falls with the French girl. She hadn't ever been there before.

Great pictures, Moore. Gorgeous girls! Cutie pie Loren, too.

It didn't happen!!

Okay, it has been pouring rain here for days, so we hoped that this might work to our advantage in that not a lot of people would show up at the restaurant last night. Silly us!! This is one of those places that doesn't take reservations, but when I called, I was told that if we came early enough, we shouldn't have a problem. Even though it was Cinco de Mayo, we were optimistic.

That's before the President of the United States, and the Vice President decided to satisfy their lunchtime hamburger cravings yesterday, and ate at Ray's Hell Burger which is right next door to Guajillo!! I guess everyone decided to check it out, or decided that since they were already assembled there it would be a good idea to stick around for some Mexican food next door, which meant that Guajillo's parking lot was packed. That left street parking, and because there was some major construction going on in the area, well...we got all the way there, and changed our plans because, at that point, the line to get into Guajillo was already outside the door, and no parking readily available. Plus the rain.

So, we came all the way back to our neighborhood Clydes, and had ourselves *several* Margaritas, and non Mexican food for our Cinco de Mayo/birthday celebration. We had fun despite the many evil forces set against us, and I just now finished my doggie bag leftovers from last night, for my lunch.

LOL about the aborted Mexican dinner. I have never understood how people can stand to line up like that for a meal. Craziness. But good for you making the best of it!!

Shelly wrote in Facebook that at 8:30 this morning the doctor broke one of the amniotic sacs, but nothing happened yet. I'll check in from time to time to see if she has posted anything else. It could be that she's a little busy.

KaeEll, we shouldn't have been surprised because this is always just our kind of luck! I'd never even heard of Ray's Hell Burgers until it was all over the news yesterday, and certainly had no idea that it was exactly where we'd planned to be last night. Jim and I are the MOST pathetic two on the planet...

By the time we got to Clydes, we were virtually salivating over the idea of the much-wanted Margaritas, but those aren't exactly Clydes's "thing". Jim spelled out which Tequilla he wanted, etc., etc., and that we wanted neither frozen nor over ice, but straight up. When the waitress arrived, the drinks were on ice. I looked at Jim (clearly our night out was not going as planned), but he said "it's okay...", and we drank them. When we ordered seconds, Jim reminded the waitress about the mistake, and made sure she understood that we wanted the drinks straight up. Another waitress arrived with the drinks, and ... yep ... they were on ice again. This time Jim sent them back, and the bartender finally got it right!

Thanks for the update on Shelly. I'm thinking that you're probably very right about her being "busy" right now! LOL...

Just to let you know that there is no further news on Shelly, so betcha anything that she is REALLY busy now.

So I watched OLTL today and geez, that Gigi storyline is ridiculous! How many people know the real story? And Rex, the super-detective does not? LOL. I used to love this soap...... *sigh*
