Since it's been so quiet around here, I thought I'd post a daily thread, hope people will chime in with their daily goings-on.
I've been in tears a lot lately, partly because of this damn medication I have to take to keep the asthma in control, partly because Nick is leaving to go back out west a few days earlier than we expected (to drive back with a friend who is moving there) and because my father is playing games with me again, lying, saying whatever to get a rise out of me. His latest ruse is to tell me that he lost a cheque for a great deal of money, that mother has lost her teeth, her hearing aid and their income tax return papers. Maybe it's true, maybe not. If I try to help, he retaliates with venom the likes of which I'd be hard pressed to describe.
Anyway, such is life, non? It beats the alternative.
After a nice long shower and an hour of Y&R. I'll put on that pot of curry I was supposed to make yesterday and didn't.
Sorry to hear that your father is so immature! He could probably use some counseling, but getting him to agree and go would probably be another story!
This morning I watched the national news----flipping channels to avoid commercials---while sipping on some coffee and eating a piece of rye toast. Emptied the clean dishes out of the dishwasher, and browsed around on the computer checking e-mails and message boards. This afternoon from 1:30 to 5:30 I will be giving swimming lessons. Then I'll come home and make dinner which will be spaghetti and a salad.
My father into counselling? Too funny!! For an old coot pushing 90 who thinks he's right every single time and has never taken responsibility for the havoc he's wreaked over the years? Thanks, Sundancer, excellent suggestion. Pity is that it's impossible. I just need to vent sometimes. There's nothing to be done with him. I've been wisely advised to back way off because his retaliations are vicious. I am scared to death of him, and with good reason.
I miss Shelly! Not only for the board itself but as a fellow Y&R viewer. That soap is so good right now and funny parts too. Shelly, I hope you're watching!!
KaeEll, I'm really sorry about your father. He really does love to push your buttons. And I'm sorry Nick is leaving earlier than you thought. No wonder you're feeling blue today.

Thanks, Moore. The worst of it is that he STILL pushes my buttons in spite of my awareness of what he's doing. I wish I'd become immune, but no such luck, it seems. *sigh* C'est la vie.
Oh!! Anybody going to watch American Idol tonight? One of the last 3 will be sent home. I'm rooting for Danny or Chris but chances are it'll be Adam that wins.
Our favorites have been Adam and Allison (who's gone now). Brandon, Adam is the one who's gay.
I like Chris and Danny pretty much equally, but maybe Danny just a drop or two more. On the other hand, Chris is probably a little more contemporary. Anyway, it's a toss-up with those two, as far as I'm concerned, but I'm pulling for Adam. The man has pipes, and brings out my "inner rocker". LOL...

Kae I miss the board and all of you guys too. Besides the babies I am spending more time offline because my mom is here. Kae we are both watching and agree that its really good. Sorry to hear about your father acting up again what a pain. I hope you were able to get that curry together. Sounds wonderful.
Not much going on here, the girls are a week old today. Sounds crazy to me, Angela's cord thing fell out today as well. Tonight we are off to church for the first time since the girls got here. Should be fun.
Shelly, you kind of have a few other things on your plate besides soaps and message boards these days, lol. You'll have to inundate us with weekly photos, okay? I want to see all these little ones grow up!
As for AI, I am no fan at all of Adam's. He probably will win because there never has been an Idol win that I've liked the best. I'm the anti-judge, lol. Ask me who I like and you'll know they won't win.
