Nick's new business, a roaring success!! YAY Nickie!!

I know I shamelessly brag about my kids on a regular basis. Please forgive.

Here is Nick's latest venture in B.C., a business he started all by himself this spring. The first club crawl was July 1, the second one July 4, tonight.

He has a day job working as webmaster for Whistler Tourism three full days a week that blends in beautifully with his new adventure of squiring party-seekers around town.

My baby....

You are a mother, you are suppose to brag about your kids. I just love that you love us enough to want to share your pride with us. Congrats to Nick. Glad he found something safe to do.

KaeEll, what a FANTASTIC idea, and great-looking website he created!! Congratulations to Nick. You know, his idea is really freaking brilliant. It's one of those things where others out there are probably muttering to themselves "now why didn't I think of that...???"

I wish him every success, and I'm sure that it WILL be a huge success.

Thanks so much for the hearty congratulations. I really appreciate it. :)

Nick has always enjoyed a party and he has always worked. He was in a co-op program when he was only 16 and started working at MuchMusic as their junior webmaster when he was 17. He loves the idea of making money doing something that was fun and he seems to have hit upon the right combination. It took a bit of capital to get the posters printed, the caps and tee shirts made, and a ton of leg work making friends with bar owners and hotel concierges, but he DID it.

I am unbelievable proud of him and almost hold my breath for the next step, but we keep the faith that this venture will hang on until the Olympics begin in 6 more months. He is now making money that he can put in the bank!! That's a far cry from his ski instructor days out west, basically living from one pay cheque to the next.

So now Nick has a day job three full days a week as webmaster for Whistler Tourism and then his Club Crawl business the rest of the time. He also does a bunch of Fieldco.com work.

Meanwhile, our middle son, who has thrown in the towel on his PhD because of the peculiar politics of academia that made him crazy, has gone to work full time at the family company, Fieldco. He likes making money, lol. His band, Jay Spectre, now has regular gigs at the Horseshoe Tavern downtown, Canada's most popular night club. So he's a happy camper at long last.

Tony, the son with all the kids, is beginning a major renovation on their house, taking off the roof and adding 4 more bedrooms. They've finally got their heads around a minivan to fit all the little whelps inside, lol. They resisted for SO long. As soon as this stupid city workers strike is over and they can hang their building permits, they'll move out into a rental house, in time, I hope, before baby 3 comes in September.

Lots of good things are happening, a little balance for the other trials of life.
