Summer is finally here!! We have had one of the coolest Junes and Julys ever, but now it's warm, mid 20's, short sleeve weather.
Jojo, is your mom going to take Jackson for a week again this summer to give you a little break? Wasn't it last summer that you drove part way to meet her, and she took Jack back to her house? That would give you a much needed break, non?
So what's all this about selling old gold to go back for recycling? It's all over the place, even parties you take unused, unwanted jewellery items for cash? Anybody done that? Janice did (shopping guru friend) and she got a whack of cash. She had a bunch of ONE earring left over (losses) and took them to a party where the host weighed the items and gave out the money.
Moore, my plan today is to go get a photo of that disgusting weedy lot up the street for you. It really will make you and Jim feel so much better. : I could describe it, but you'd never believe it. Pics are better.
We had a thunderstorm last night, so Lucy freaked out. I heard her at about 3:30 a.m., this morning, so came down to the couch to sleep. Went back upstairs just before 6:00 a.m... As a result, I overslept, and now am completely behind the power curve today.
I sucked down some coffee while Jim made us some brunch. We ate it, and watched our Tivoed "CBS Sunday Morning" show.
The sun has been out for a couple of hours now, and if it holds, we'll BBQ tonight when our son comes over for dinner. Despite the oversleeping, I still feel like I have sand in my eyes.
Jim goes back to work tomorrow, after having had a couple of weeks off. He's not looking forward to it........

Happy Sunday to you all. It has been a great day even though it appears as though the rain is coming back. Ugh...I had a good morning at church, we sung some of my favorites and then I had lunch with a good friend who is going through a mess of a divorce. This guy is a jerk and it sounds like her lawyer is working for the other guy. Anyways, I have been having her spend time over here because her house is too depressing and with Vinnie gone (left this morning for week in Florida) it is nice to have an extra set of hands.
Not much else going on. We are going to settle in tonight to watch this new show called Drop Dead Diva. Its a bit campy but its cute, and then Army Wives will be on. So a nice night on the couch for us.
Hey gals! It was a lazy sunday...I'm about to head over to my brother's for dinner. We did a little extra grocery shopping today to get ingredients for a breakfast I saw Paula Deen make this morning...can't WAIT to try it.
No, I won't be taking Jackson to my mom's this summer. I can't afford to make even half the trip, and I don't think my car is reliable to make an 11 hour drive to Kansas then back again. Bummer, because I could have used a break! Money's tight with her too, so there's no way they could meet me either.
Shelly, I LOVE Drop Dead Diva and Army Wives. Two very good summer shows to watch when there is not much else on. I hope I can make it back in time to watch. If not, they will be repeated. But, I missed last week's Army Wives, so hopefully I can catch up.

Yesterday didn't turn out at all like I thought. Tony called around 11 and invited himself and the tribe over for dinner so there would be 8 of us. Mike, Maya and Chris, the guy visiting from Vienna, couldn't make it. So instead of a leisurely day it was scurry this and that making food for everybody, all with various dietary needs. Little Q is still on his elimination diet of no this or that. Anyway, all arrived by 4 and we ate early, took a few pics. I fell asleep on the sofa before the news, exhausted. The thing is, when Tony and his group are here, he is so busy minding his own kids that he is no help and my parents are far too needy to be of any assistance, so Ted and I have to do it all. At least with Mike and Maya, she helps SO much that it's lots of fun. I missed them yesterday.
Today is a civic holiday here, Simcoe Day in Toronto, but it's called different things all over the place. It's just an excuse for a long weekend. Tony is working because he does USA stuff a lot and Ted is there helping him with admin things. Both of them are coming for lunch to scarf down the left-overs from last night.
Moore, I didn't get to take that promised photo yet, but I will later. Nothing will be done about it by the city on this holiday day.
OH and great pics all around. The babies are getting so big and it looks like you had fun with those little cuties Kae. So glad you mentioned DDD I love the show, but I haven't had much time to check out Army Wives. If it is on demand I might just do that this week.
So much to catch up on. I started seeing someone. Nothing terribly serious, just someone to hang out with, have fun, and keep me company. He's great so there is potential. He watches the kids for me on Tuesday nights while I am at work. He has offered to watch them if I want to take the direct sales position that came available at work, and I don't think Floyd is going to fight much if I want to keep the kids more. In fact I don't think the joint custody thing is going to last very long once I go to day. I really don't think he can handle the kids. We'll just see. I just started Slim Fast, and I think I am doing pretty well. I don't feel hungry much at all between meals and when I do , those little bars are a great help!
I'll have to post a picture of the new boyfriend on my myspace if I can. :( His computer does not have an sd slot. Oh well lol
