Wednesday, August 12

Good morning!

Yesterday was a baby-sitting afternoon that didn't go too well. V has decided that being a real little s-disturber would be a fun way to get me worked up, and that's exactly what she did yesterday by doing things she KNEW her little brother Q would copy. When I finally got her in line by reading her a story, then diving into my purse make-up kit, Q started up with his climbing up on things, high up. By the time Tony got home at the dot of 5:30, I had HAD it and left straightaway. I'm back there again this afternoon, but I'll have to take another long break. It's one thing to discipline one's own, but grand kiddies are quite another matter. I'm not so sure about looking after 3 of them when the time comes. D-i-l is due in 5 weeks. Q is such an adorable kid, so sweet natured, even when he's cranky, it's weird that he has the penchant for heights that he does. I had one like that, the middle son. It's the reason there is such a big gap between him and the youngest of our 3. And here I am at it once again. *sigh*

So what are you guys up to today? I'm home until 1 this afternoon, then back to the salt mines at my son's house, the place that looks like a bomb went off at Toys R Us.

Well good luck today, I think I am going to hit our farmer's market this afternoon. Other then that I don't have any plans.

No special plans today.

KaeEll, it's no wonder you're worn out with the babysitting. A grandparent doesn't want to have to be in a position of playing disciplinarian to the little ones, but be there to kiss the boo-boos, cuddle them, and be the soft lap for them to fall into. It's gotta be frustrating for you!

Are there any plans for preschool? If so, that ought to help a bit!

Yes, Moore. Both of them will be in the Montessori day long programme come autumn. V was in it all last year and Q can go as soon as he's potty trained. He'll start out half days, work up to the 8:30 to 3 day thing in time. Unfortunately that's how I got so bloody sick this past winter because they bring home every germ known to man, lol. Many parents treat the Montessori school as a day care and send the kids whether they're sick or not. Most teachers there build up an immunity after one whole year. Grannies, not so much, lol.

I made it clear, though, that if either child has so much as a sniffle, don't call me. I won't go through that again.

As for discipline, if it had EVER been meted out in the first place, there wouldn't be this problem now.

KaeEll, I guess I DID know that about why you were so sick last year, but momentarily forgot. Yeah, that was no fun for you, and you're right about not being able to build up those immunities! For YEARS, when our kids were young, Jim and I regularly became sick in November, and pretty much stayed that way until April, having passed every germ back and forth to each other. I even got the Chickenpox, and it was miserable having it as an adult!!

Today's pretty boring here. Work's all right. Some retard scrapped their car up against the passenger side of my car. Nothing bad, just that kind of paint chipping, you can see the smear mark and wipe it off with your hand type damage but still, frustrating.

So I was pondering throwing a GL actor topic since the show taped its final episode yesterday in all soap, in fact, I think I shall! lol

Sorry about your car, Bran. That is frustrating. One time when I got out of my car at the subway kiss and ride zone (I was picking up Ted and decided to let him drive home, so I was getting into the passenger side), I accidentally ticked my door into the guy parked next to me and he jumped out and started screaming at me. There was no damage at all, but he scared the living daylights out of me and ever since then I have been extra careful never to do that.

And sorry, I have never once watched GL, so can't offer any comments there.

Yesterday's baby sitting went much much better but it was a 5 hour session. D-i-l felt so bad about that that she brought me back 2 darling little presents; a pink glass box, just perfect for earrings and a little lumbar cushion with a green butterfly on it. She seems to have this huge energy spurt lately, a sure sign that baby is about to come into the world.

I'm staying home all day today. I'm tired.
