Good morning everyone. I hope you all have been doing well. Seems we don't nearly chat on here half as often as we once did. Anyways, I found out Wednesday that Vinnie will be headed to Georgia for 3 weeks. So I am heading down to VA for a week of that. The thought of being alone for 3 weeks with the twins doesn't sound fun. I can't stay longer then that because Jolene starts kindergarten on the 1st of the month. Kind of makes me sad.
Anyways, so next week I will be on sporadically but since I have facebook on my phone I will be checking in there.
Other then that, what is going on with all of you. Kae are you off on your normal Friday routine?
We had an enormous storm here last night with tornadoes and all. Scary. I don't like big storms, but all is quiet this morning. Also I've had annoying computer problems, crashing and freezing and my son is supposed to help me back up so the Apple guys can fix it, but it's been 2 weeks and Tony's leash is very short...
Anyway, I'm off to do the usual with a couple of added errands today but have to be back here by 3 so the general manager of Best Buy can personally deliver the new TV. We shall see, lol.
Shelly, it can be tough with 3 little ones and no help. I know I did it myself for many years as Ted worked long hours building his career. By the time we could afford nannies the kids were older but it was still a bit of a challenge. Just remember to set rules and schedules so the kids don't run roughshod all over you. Kids love routines, as much as they tend to buck them at first. They learn to rely upon them for order and continuity. They want to know that mommy is in charge. :)
KaeEll, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that your TV is delivered as promised!
Shelly, a week in VA with family will be a nice break for you, and I'm sure that the kids will enjoy it too. Don't be too sad about sending Jolene to kindergarten in September. You'll adjust VERY quickly (trust me), and it'll simply become a new routine. The best part is that Jolene is going to LOVE being in kindergarten, and having kids her age to play with every single day. There's so much for them to do, and it's the beginning of the whole school experience. She'll also think of herself as a "big girl" since she can go to school, and the babies can't!

It is now after 4 p.m. I broke all records in order to get home by 2:45, the appointed hour for delivery. No delivery, no call.
The manager did call me this morning to say that not only was he sending for free the geek squad and that he put the TV in their car himself, but that he was giving us a $50 gift certificate.
OH! He just called and will be here at 4:30. That's almost 2 hours late, but we shall see.
What fun. Now I have to shop for all the stuff for Tony's birthday party here during Friday night rush hour.
We had tornadoes here just the other day as well. Very ugly weather and we don't have a basement. Luckily though my friends are very insistent that we come over so we are safe. Today is a pretty good one. Bethany starts school on monday. Sad and excited all at once :( It will be good for her though.
I am very close to kicking some ex husband ass. He owes me quite a bit of money and has not paid a penny yet. So he might as well plan on getting an ass reaming in court soon.
The state is getting tornado warnings but so far they are all up North. Hope they don't come down here. With Vinnie gone I wouldn't have the slightest idea what to do. Arizona doesn't have these kinds of storms. My dad pointed out that they have brush fires and they have monsoon. But monsoon doesn't pick up your house.
Anyways, Kae did they drop off your tv? Did you tell them what they can do with the gift card?
The tornadoes were very scary. Many people to the north of us lost their homes and one little boy, his life. For tornadoes, the safest thing to do is hole up in the south-west corner of the house, basement if you have one, or inside a bath tub. Ted and I went to the basement with my purse, cell phones, Chloe and her leash. The sky went yellow, a huge rushing sound, then all silent. The one twister passed by to the north and we were safe. Ted is from Kansas where he grew up with tornadoes all around him. His paternal grandmother died in one in Columbus.
I posted in the Best Buy thread what happened with the "new" TV. It's a newer model but doesn't work properly. It was bad enough with the old story. Now we have to start all over again.
Today we're having a birthday party for Tony whose big day was on Thursday. We're having home made burgers, potato salad, sliced beefsteak tomato salad and a double fudge chocolate cake with Ontario strawberries and ice cream.
The CNE opened yesterday. It's a huge annual fair that attracts millions each year and marks the end of summer holidays, lasting until Labour Day. Two little kids were hurt in rides and were taken to hospital. So much for summer, lol. It might not have been the warmest but it certainly wasn't uneventful.
Did you tell them what they can do with the gift card?
HAHAHAHAHAHA!! THAT was a GOOD one, Shelly...
You did the right thing with the tornadoes. VERY scary. We get them in our area, from time to time, but I've only been really close to one twice. The first time was when my oldest daughter was a baby, and I was pregnant with our son. I was sitting in our daughter's room while she tried to go to sleep at naptime. I suddenly heard this loud sound outside her window, and it was just like the proverbial approaching freight train. By the time it all registered in my poor tired pregnant brain, the sound had passed, but later we learned that our neighbors a few houses down had lost a massive tree. It had just snapped...
About ten years later, Jim was somewhere or other, and I was home with all three kids. We were having a storm, and there had been tornado warnings announced on TV. We were prepared to go to the basement (with the dogs, of course), and take shelter in the appropriate corner. The winds suddenly picked up, and as I went towards the back of the house to see if there were any signs of bad clouds in back, the kids shrieked from the living room, in front, that they'd just seen a tornado go dancing down the street, past our front yard! We live on a corner, and one of our neighbors was just in the process of turning from the crossing street, when the tornado went by, and just missed her car! We didn't have any damage, but there were broken trees up and down the street, and an entire tool shed had been lifted, and replaced elsewhere, upside down.
I think that's about enough for me, and tornadoes...
I was supposed to go to a doll thing today, but we had thunderstorms here last night which meant that I was up with Lucy ALL night, and finally headed to bed at about 5:30 a.m. Jim's in Phoenix, and will be home tomorrow afternoon. I was SO pissed off at missing this workshop because I'd really been looking forward to it. I had to miss the one in July because I'd been hospitalized, and was still recovering, and now this one too. I'd even bought some flowers to take up to Judi for hosting these events all summer, on behalf of the club. Grrrr........ Well, I guess that I'll enjoy them myself, and buy some more for her when we meet in September.
This summer hasn't gone the way I'd planned...
A BIG HUGE HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TONY!! Sounds like a great birthday menu.
