Okay seriously, what hell is wrong with people?

How in the HELLLLLL can you defend Roman Polanski? He's not innocent of anything, yet actors, the country of France apparently keep defending him. It's driving me nuts. Let's review the facts shall we:

1. He used alcohol on a 13 year old girl and then proceeded to have sex with her
2. He plead guilty to a sex charge
3. He then thought there was something up with the plea deal and then fled
4. He continues to flee and be a criminal at large

But hey, that's okay. He's a great director and his family was slaughtered by the Manson family but let's let him go, because it's okay. He all ready was punished by not being able to enter the U.S. for X years.

Ummmm.... no, that's bullshit. It's bullshit because he could have entered the U.S. and likely resolved this a long time ago, but no he continues to flee from his guilty plea, a plea that could possibly be thrown out and all charges dropped due to potential prosecutor misconduct. And honestly, had he NOT fled in the first place he probably wouldn't have spent too much time doing anything because then he was still the understandably screwed up guy whose wife and unborn child were killed by Charlie Manson and his buddies. But nope, now he's a jackass that doesn't know when to stop.

So seriously, how the hell can you defend him and call for his "freedom"?

I don't know the facts of this case but I do remember something about his flight way back when this all happened. It was a really long time ago. Shouldn't there be a statute of limitations on this kind of thing? With so many important issues out there, a very old crime like this one shouldn't be on the front pages anywhere, IMHO.

Anyway, I'm not defending the guy here, just saying that there ought to be more important things for the international authorities to bother with. It must be awfully quiet in Switzerland these days.

Well it is Switzerland after all. If they aren't being neutral on everything, then it's a big news day. LOL

I guess a**hole-ness knows no international limits. Quell jerk, non? This should have been resolved decades ago. Just goes to show that it's better to get the bad stuff over with sooner rather than later.

Exactly. Honestly, I can understand his hesitation with that judge but you deal with it and get it done. I just don't get people coming out supporting him being a fugitive from a plea he made willfully. It wasn't like they held a gun to his head.

It really should have been resolved decades ago. It is bad when the 13 year old victim wants nothing to do with the case and just wants to continue with her life. The man should have been extradited a long time ago.

Brandon, I'm with you here!

I do understand that his victim wants to put this behind her now, and not dredge up all the details in a courtroom, but Roman Polanski still hasn't paid for what he did to her, when she was only thirteen years old. Mother's permission or not!!

I also realize that he's been through a lot in his life, but that doesn't give him a pass to rape children. He was a coward to flee the country, and he should serve his time.
