Friday

Its Friday. Jolene's 5th birthday party is tomorrow. I am making another fancy cake for it. This one is going to be a princess castle cake. She is going bowling for the party. I think it will be great.

I am so tired, I emailed the realtor this morning to see if she could send me the utilities on that house for the last year. I am a little worried about having to heat, and cool a house so big. I hope it isn't too bad though because I really like the house.

Kae are you off on your Friday errands? Moore what has you busy? Is the AMC move keeping you busy on GH. The whole Lucky thing is keeping us busy. I imagine it is a lot like the "real" Greenlee thing. Very annoying.

This is what Jolene's cake will look like

Hey Shelly, you should also do some investigation into how many windows, the window pane thickness, etc. A lot of owners don't know they can save 20-50 bucks just in simple things like changing the window pane thickness, closing up cracks, etc. It does actually make a huge difference if you do a run through, especially if the house is on the bigger size.

Shelly, what an ADORABLE cake!! You're making it?? Maybe you should supplement your income (to pay for those utilities) by starting a cake business. LOL...

Bowling parties are fun for kids. We had a couple of bowling birthday parties for ours, and our kids went to several of them too. Great fun, and so funny for the parents to watch!

What does Jolene want for presents?

As for the windows, I'm betting that whatever you have in this new house, Shelly, is far better than what Jim and I have. We really really need to get new windows in this house because ours are the original ones, and they completely suck. I'm not even going to think about all of the money we could have saved, over the years. Brandon is very right!

In our area, it all kind-of balances out between winter and summer. Our gas bill is high in the winter, but our electric bill is high in the summer, when we're running the air conditioner... You're smart to ask the realtor for stats.

Shelly, this move to LA is making everyone nuts. I have no idea what effect it's ultimately going to have on the show, but I'm afraid. Very, very afraid...

Not much is going on today, although it's gorgeous out. Tomorrow, my nephew's son (just turned ten last month) will be playing football with his team at a local high school, so Auntie will go watch him play! Brady's older sister will be coaching the younger girls with their cheerleading, and Brady's younger sister (Grace - a real piece of work!!) is one of those little girls who'll be leading us in our cheers!

A couple of pictures of Gracie. I'm not sure, but I THINK these were taken last spring.

I think that NC is on the warmer side, so hopefully that will help. Thanks for the advice on the windows. We actually will go down to NC next weekend to see houses and then we will check on the windows.

Jolene really hasn't asked for anything. Although yesterday while watching a cartoon she told me she wanted everything from every commercial that came on. I think I might get her one of those cheapo digital cameras. I may even open a folder on facebook just for pictures from her. I would be amused to see the world through a 5 year old lens. Especially with us moving. And we will be spending turkey day in Michigan so we will have a white turkey day. Ugh...

Uck, a cold rainy day here and it was a chore getting mother home without her getting her hair wet. She tends to dawdle, fussing with her seat belt, and I have to maneuver an umbrella with one hand and her stuff with another.

Shelly, what an ambitious and adorable cake! The bowling should be lots of fun and easier on your place since the kids will make the mess at the bowling lanes, lol. Smart choice.

Bran and Moore are dead right about the windows. That house looks like it was built in the late 80's so at least the windows should be well sealed, but a little extra calking can do wonders. We used to drive through Elizabeth City all the time en route to Hilton Head and as I remember, the summers can be a bit on the HOT side, so good insulation will help keep those utility bills down. Winters are light coat weather so heating won't be an issue really. You may have the furnace on for a couple of months, January and February. We had no heating at our house in Hilton Head and never needed it. Then again, it was a good drive south of Elizabeth City.

I have to go pick up Ted in an hour or so, then we're off to the yucky fish market store for some salmon. I'll send Ted in, lol. That place creeps me right out.

Moore, Gracie is a doll!! And naturally blonde too. Just like me *snort*.

Tree colours are turning gorgeous up here. I'll post some pics next week after I get this turkey dinner out of the way. Form Canada to all of you kids, gobble, gobble, gobble.

Just a quick drive by. Kae do not watch today's US show unless you have like an entire box of tissues handy.
