Last night we were all abuzz because the local cable company had dropped the broadcast of 5 stations, not the least was the CBC carrying the finale of Battle of the Blades. Thank goodness we watched on time shift at 7 from Halifax, so we were up to speed, but most people in Canada's most populous city were not. It was broadcast later at 9 but hardly the point. There's a battle going on here between the large broadcasters and the cable and satellite companies over local television and fees. It made us wonder just how "accidental" this blackout was. When a local cable company buys an iconic city arena and renames it after itself (The Skydome, now supposedly to be called The Rogers Centre) it hardly garners support and sympathy from the already overtaxed citizens. Argh. Politics, eh?
Did you watch Dancing with the Stars last night? Poor Donny and the wardrobe malfunction, eh? I guess he'll be sent packing tonight. I still love Kelly and her infectious smile, but that swim suit model and those lips, *snort*. Mya will win, no doubt.
I'm waiting for the eavestrough cleaners this morning. (Ted's not allowed on the roof anymore. I'm tired of worrying about THAT.) Then I have an appointment to fix a really unfortunate haircut before taking Mike and Maya out for a bon voyage dinner at a Greek restaurant.
It's another sunny warm autumn day here. How is your day shaping up?
Perfect place for a drive through. We are currently in West Virginia somewhere enroute to Michigan. We should get there in the morning at some point. I look forward to a couple of weeks where other people will play with my kids for me.
Kae I didn't watch DWTS but I kind of don't like Donny much anyways. I like Kelly. She has been such a pleasant surprise this season. I am thrilled that she is less and less like her father then she once was.
We are getting ready to go enjoy some continental breakfast and then on the road again. The girls are all doing well.
