Sunday

Well I am getting the girls ready to head to church. Its been slightly warm here lately. Its not 9 in the morning and already 47 outside. Pretty good, wish it would stay this way. Especially with desert people coming out to a wedding in February. They are going to freeze.

What is everyone up to today? Anyone else have tomorrow off? I think its Martin Luther King and of course the military gets it all off. The good thing is that since Sharon is about to marry a Navy man he will be able to watch Hailey for her. Will be nice for her to save that money.

I got my bridesmaid dress, but I need to go buy some lingerie to go with it. I need the magical stuff.

Anyway, that's all for me....What about you?

We're enjoying a cozy, rainy morning, and are still having our coffee.

Shelly, you're desert people probably will freeze in February, unless you get really lucky! Here in Northern Virginia, we always have a "teaser" in January that gives us all spring fever. Then it turns cold again, and we can even have snow in February. I would advise all wedding guests to bring a coat, and some warmer clothes. If it ends up being a little warmer, everyone will be pleasantly surprised!

What does the bridesmaid dress look like?

I was thinking of you last night, Shelly, because I was exploring some local cooking classes, and ran across a few for cake decorating, and also for baking cakes. They were all sold out! LOL...

I'm wrestling with whether or no to say anything about a particularly $%^&* girl, daughter of an acquaintance, who decided to "unfriend" me on that bloody annoying FB thing. I just happened to notice it the other week when I did see that my small friend count was down by one, and it took no time at all the determine the missing person. I'll refrain from the defamatory diatribe that's bubbling up as I even address this thing superficially. Plenty to say, none of it internet-worthy, lol. For that matter, it's not even worth the energy I've given it to post THIS. Enough of that.

I've been in a really sour frame of mind lately. Maybe it's the time of the year, maybe the weather, maybe that the life-long loneliness has decided to take over for a while. I have ZERO empathy for the self-involved nits I see daily, the utterly selfish motivations of so many around me. I used to be able to just wave it away. Not lately. I wake up each morning still breathing and walking, do what is expected of me and a bit more for good measure. I'm tired and need a break.

I hope all are having a far better Sunday than I am here. *hugs*

Awww, KaeEll -- I'm so sorry that you're feeling so low, and that the wretched former "friend" triggered a case of the blues. Not worth it...

I think that, if you're anything like me, the stress of the holidays may still be lingering. Also, you're overwhelmed by all the other real issues that are swirling around in your life, and those are more important, and can drain a person of all emotional AND physical energy. And, as you already mentioned, the time of year doesn't help either!

DO something today that gives you pleasure! Rent a movie you've been wanting to see, and watch it all by yourself on your computer, all curled up in bed with lots of pillows and blankets. Have a cup of tea nearby.

Take a long, hot soak-y bath, with lots of bubbles in it. When was the last time you did that?? Then grab a fashion (or other) magazine, and read it until you fall asleep. Do you get the magazine "Victoria" up there in the frozen tundra?? It's gorgeous...

Gab on the phone with someone who always cheers you up. Talk about some silly stuff, and have some laughs!

Go to a bookstore, and don't pay any attention to the time. Browse all the aisles, leaf through all the new novels, cookbooks, art, home decorating, magazines, and other miscellaneous stuff that's appealing to you. Then treat yourself to something. Go back home, and dig into whatever it is that you bought for yourself.

Order carryout tonight.

Just some random suggestions... Feel better!

Kae I wish you could take a vacation and come visit us in Virginia. Sounds like you could use a weekend away. Can you talk with a girl friend about doing a spa thing away? And I hope the non-friend on FB issue goes away and is out of your mind soon.

Moore me and my sister have decided we might greet family at the airport with winter coats. Brian's family is from the gulf so they won't be much different really.

Oh, how could I forget. This little bit of rain this morning washed up a turtle. He is sitting outside on our little stoop thing.
Here is my dress, only difference is mine will be yellow. It wont get in until the 3rd of Feb.

Shelly, that's a really pretty dress! It's a great example of how well simple, with classic lines can work. I love the color you're wearing in the picture, and I think that the yellow will look pretty too. Cheerful... (My bridesmaids' gowns were yellow, but the selection back then was, um, not as extensive as it is now! I tried to keep mine as simple as possible too, but there was always some kind of "stuff" on gowns back then. If any of my friends still have theirs (laughs), they're probably using them as examples of "look at what I was forced to wear", or entering them in talk show contests for "worst bridesmaid's dress"...

In my defense, I saw MUCH worse back then.

I think that yellow will be a nice color on you...

Thank you. It will probably look better in the final shot because in this one I am not wearing a bra. I am thinking of getting one of those belly sucker bra's. I need to find some jewelry to go with it.

And I like it because it is so simple. I think after the wedding I may have 2 inches cut off. It would make a fine church dress. Not too fancy at all.
