Where I've been

Work has been crazy busy with up training our newer employees to get more technically sound and get them up to speed so we can have a solidified level of tech support and cut down on wait times, etc. Basically we had generic agent that can handle an issue, send an e-mail and then escalate by transferring to another queue. This killed our wait times and pissed off our customers. So we've killed that group and now the front is all on the same page, technical ability, etc. 1 call, 1 agent and then 1 resolution instead of needless transfers.

In other news, I've been the backup supervisor for awhile now and my boss has left the company after she got another job. I will be filling in as the interim supervisor until they hire someone to replace her. I am applying and have a set of interviews today, and I think I have a fair shot at it. I'd appreciate any prayers from our religious folks too!

So sorry I haven't been around, just been too busy at work to really be online.

Bran, congratulations! That's a good reason to have been MIA!! I've wondered what's been keeping you so busy, and that certainly explains it.

How are Patricia and your beautiful daughter doing? And what about the puttypats? Are you guys still in the apartment in Bloomfield or did you make that move you'd been contemplating? I've been catching the odd episode of House Hunters (have to see something to fill in my soap slots, lol) and there have been several from the Denver area. Oh, and I think Jojo travelled to Denver recently for a work-related thing. Did you two make any contact?

Keep up the good work! It's one way to stay out of mischief, non?

Family's doing fine, they've been off and on sick with the various winter time yuck but otherwise going well. We finished with the wife's deposition from the car accident back in Oct of 08 and thankfully out of that the lady that hit her flat out admitted she was wrong. So that's moving onto the settlement phase and thankfully it's Farmer's and they don't like to go to court so I think that will be resolved too.

We're still leaving in the same apartment with the same kitties, no new additions. We'll see if we can pull off a house here sometime in the next year. And nope, missed Jodi whenever she was last down here.

Brandon!! Thanks so much for the update; I can certainly see why you haven't had much time to post.

I'll be keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you...

Yeah so I'm suppose to be hearing back this week on the supervisor thing. So thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers.

Also remember that car accident my wife got into back in 08? Yeah that settlement conference is this week as well. So good thoughts and prayers there too!

Thanks guys! Sorry I haven't been around but between busy at work and busy at home, haven't had a whole lot of time for here.

Definitely holding good thoughts about the accident settlement too!

We understand how "life" can get in the way of playing. Please let us know how everything turns out as soon as you can!

Well didn't get the supervisor position but got moved to a new group, bump in pay and an opportunity to learn to do Tier 2 work and virus removals as well. So, good and bad. But better then nothing at all. Also I'm not reporting to the replacement supervisor who unfortunately I believe will be just a tool for the current one to dominate the regular tech support teams.

But in short, I'll be around more! LOL.

Congratulations, Brandon!

I'm sorry about the supervisor position, but it sounds as though you'll have many of the benefits without all of the pesky responsibilities that a supervisor would have. And something new to learn that will add to your resume, and overall expertise. AND more time to play!!

Good news/bad news...it's the stuff of life, non? Sometimes the bad things turn out to be the best ever a few years down the way and the very things that happen that were hoped for the most end up as turns in the wrong direction after all. Oh, for that crystal ball!

Many years ago, about 15 of them, actually, we had our lives ripped apart by a series of events that really shouldn't have happened the way that they did, and I thought it was all over. And now, when I look back, it was probably a lesson we all had to learn and the end results weren't that bad after all. Yeah, some regrets still, because some of it could have been averted with some wisdom (which none of us HAD at the time), but in the end, it was okay. And I'm sure it will be for you too, Bran. And the one BRIGHT side is that we'll have you around here more!!! YAY for that! And so will your lovely wife and daughter. How bad can that be?

BTW, what the heck are Whoopie and company yapping about this morning? More Tiger crap? More Michael Jackson? Gah.

Did I ever mention that I don't care that Tiger cheated on his wife, it's none of my business and none of anyone else's business but his and hers and maybe the girl he cheated with? Yeah, I'm really kind of done with the whole let's talk about Tiger this, that and the other.

Seriously, find a new topic.

Yeah, I think that everyone needs to leave Tiger alone now. He appears to be addressing his private issues, and it's up to his wife to decide if that's enough. Anyway, I think that Tiger's own mother may have already "ripped him a new one", given her facial expressions and demeanor during his press conference!

Now that Elisabeth is back, I haven't watched much of The View. That woman can precipitate a debate, and interrupt others more than anyone else on that panel. I'm even getting a bit tired of Whoopie, and I never thought I'd say that!

Brandon, I hope your move to the new group works out at your place of employment.

I don't watch The View because they all try to talk at once! It was better when Meredith was on. I do like Barbara Walters. Hoda and Kathy are on a different network at the same time. I prefer to watch them----if I have the time.

Sorry you didn't get the postition, but at least some good came out of it all, right?

Yeah, I was in Denver recently, but only for one night. We got in late, and were in meetings all day and hit the airport right after that. Bummer we didn't get to have dinner or something. That wouda been fun.
