I don't know if you all read about this, but yesterday Ann Coulter, was to speak at an Ottawa university. As a result of students protesting that they did not want her there, her engagement was cancelled. There was concern for security, said the people involved in the decision.

Ann Coulter has had a record of making statements that many Canadians feel are inflammatory and offensive. Sure, she has the right to speak her mind, as do all of us here in Canada as well as in the USA. That wasn't the issue. The issue was that she was not particularly appreciated as a speaker at that school. It was kind of like having Pee Wee Herman entertain a preschool group shortly after his arrest in a movie house many years ago. Just bad form, to say the least.

Anyway, that is my two cents. It doesn't get any more of my energy except for a chuckle or two as I read some of the reports earlier today in the online papers. I wanted to pipe up about it, perhaps put a different spin upon some of the skewed press that will no doubt follow.
