We're here, and already exhausted; finally got to bed at the equivalent of 4:00 a.m., Virginia time. Our daughter made dinner for us in her lovely townhouse (my salmon recipe, delicious orzo, and broccoli), and she's made a roulage for the whole family, for later today. We met her two kitties!
Once we were on the plane, we were told that we would be delayed for about thirty mintues, because of thunderstorms. Oh goody! Then, the copilot said that all planes had to return to the terminal (but not the gate), but we eventually made it into the air. It was a packed flight, on a very large plane. Otherwise, it was a pretty good flight. I slept, and did my needlepoint, to calm myself! LOL...
Our son has probably landed by now, and his sister is picking him up (he's staying with her). I wish that my own house were as meticulous as hers is! She's done a beautiful job with the decor too!
Our oldest daughter and boyfriend Loren will arrive at noon, AZ time, and will hang out with the other two siblings at the townhouse. Then, AZ-daughter will bring them here to the resort where we have a beautiful suite, and a gorgeous view from our balconies. And, the suites are FREE for our entire stay here, along with a nice dinner on the resort Friday night. This is all because Jim offered the resort some freebie pictures he took, about a year ago, and they liked them so much, they asked him to come back out last November to take some more. They've used a number of them on their website, in brochures, and in other promotional printed material, so they were more than glad to comp us as many rooms and/or suites as we needed.
Tonight, we'll be eating in the only five-star restaurant in all of Arizona which also just happens to be in the hotel. This is all Native American owned land, and it's just beautiful.
Anyway, we just got word that our son has landed, so I'm going to run. Will take some pictures (not as good as Jim's!!), and post them later...
And yes, Sundancer, I HATE to fly!! LOL...

The resort is on Native American grounds, and the restaurant is called Kai, the Native American word for seed. Here's the link for their dinner menu (PDF - takes a minute or two to load). Crazy good, and YES, I had wine with dinner, and more than I probably should have had.
The menu doesn't reflect everything we had either, because there were other "bites" in between, such as an "amuse bouche" and a palate cleansing berry sorbet with black pepper and balsamic reduction. We also got a RIDICULOUS complimentary array (and I really do mean array) of desserts that I couldn't even begin to describe. We all got different plates of assorted, INSANELY delicious little bites of stuff, along with a chocolate souffle for the table to share. And THEN, after all of that, we were brought a tiered tray of chocolate truffles.
I am SO ready for bed.
Here's where we're staying (and some of the site's photos are Jim's):

Moore, I am glad you are enjoying your visit with your adult kids in Arizona. That resort you are staying at is just beautiful. You can't beat the price either. I hope you have lots of fun on this vacation.
Here it is on Monday afternoon already. Moore must be back from her Arizona adventure by now too. I wish I'd been around before the flight, Moore. I would have reminded you about RESCUE REMEDY. It does the trick of a glass of wine or two without the complications of the alcohol. It gets me through all sorts of nasty stuff, and I'm sure it would help you too.
The weekend here was busy and productive. All the garden things are in place now and we even ate outside last night. Such a treat!!
Mike and Nick will both be home here in 2 weeks, so there are a few little things I want done before that. It's a great incentive for me, otherwise I'd just let things slide along with ratty footstools and falling apart picture frames, lol. I've decided that baby steps do me well, make a difference and are less jarring than drastic measures. And even after several weeks of deprivation on this evil diet with no apparent change, the other day I put on a pair of pants and the bottoms were dragging on the floor. So that was great! I still haven't the nerve to try on that one outfit in the closet yet, but I'm working up to it. A few more days of no potatoes, pasta, bread, fruit, rice or sugar (other than my necessary raid on the marmalade jar at 2 a.m.) and I might have dropped a bit more of that ******** lard I've been carting around for a couple of years. Last night I dreamt about corn on the cob, for gawds sake, a big no-no.
