How is everyone today? What do you have planned for the weekend? This evening my husband and I are going to a pavilion in The Woodlands for the Houston Symphony "Forces of Nature". This will be our first time there and I am looking forward to it.
I just got my new MacBook all up and running, after waaay too much fuss and carry-on, lol. The men-folk "took over" because "mom isn't very good at that sort of thing". For a while there, not only did I have no computer at all, but no land line telephones either. That's a long story not worth recounting, but it was all related.
Today, in about an hour, I have an appointment at the Apple Store to get the old iMac fixed, the computer I have been cursing for almost 3 years now. The guys assumed it was something I had been doing wrong, hence all my complaints. As it turns out, there is a huge problem in the mother board and it is still under warranty, so it will be all fixed up for free.
So here I am cordless, wireless, sitting comfortably in a chair with my little new computer.
Moore, good luck on that trip out west! A full recounting of the events is expected upon your return. Pictures, too.
Around here, it's been kind of business as usual. My friend, Marilyn, who had ordered 2 new shiny bathrooms for her house (built in early 70's) redone in the month of March, is still banging her head because she went with a cheaper contractor and has had nothing but one horror story after the next. As an example of their total incompetence, one of the master bathroom basins was installed back to front, with epoxy, the stuff that dries so hard that only a sledge hammer will get it loose. I think there's a good lesson for all of us in that.
Jim, NC-daughter and Loren just left a few minutes ago for their side trip to the Grand Canyon, and then back down for an overnight in Sedona. They'll do the Pink Jeep tour tomorrow morning.
We're all having a fabulous time, and are also all exhausted. I posted some stuff in the ''AHHHHH....." thread, and will try to post a little more later today. Along with some pictures.
The ceremony was wonderful, and the two old parents here were a little emotional, if truth be told! Our "baby", and last child to graduate. (tissues please).
We had another lovely dinner last night, a freebie from the hotel, and a nice breakfast this morning. Now that Jim has left with two of the group, my plans are to have a nice, long hot shower, and chill with a book or some needlepoint. Our new graduate is going to show her brother around, and he might come spend the night here, in the spare double bed that's in our daughter's side of the suite. Tonight, we're going over to AZ-daughter's place where her "we don't know what their relationship is friend" Jason will cook for all of us, and his absolutely adorable little boy Micah (4 years old) will be there too. We met him yesterday at the hotel's pool/slide/hot tub.
KaeEll, congratulations on your new MacBook! Yay. And sympathies to Marilyn. What a mess!
Will write more later...

I have never been to the Grand Canyon, but would love to see it. Back when my daughter (first born)was doing geology work in Las Vegas, her husband flew people over the GC for sight seeing. The passengers wore ear phones and selected the language they needed for the naration.
