HOT!!

That's almost all I have the energy to say...

We're supposed to go to a neighbor's house later this afternoon, to celebrate a high school graduation. My oldest daughter used to babysit for this young lady! Scary...

I was going to do some stuff outside, but I think there's now too much danger that Jim might later find nothing more than a puddle with blonde hair in the middle of it.

And Jim has opted for an unusual brunch option for tomorrow: Indian food. LOL... The restaurant where we sometimes get Indian carry-out sent us something in the mail the other day, advertising their special. Jim pounced on the idea right away (I haven't let him have any Indian or Chinese lately), and because it's Father's Day tomorrow, I had no choice! I'm afraid that he and I may both be suffering from major heartburn tomorrow afternoon...

Is everyone else staying inside today?

My father passed away back in 1992. I still miss him. My husband and I had four children together. He ended up being alone. My daughter, who is visiting from San Francisco, and I went to the beach yesterday (Sunday). When she went in the water (Lake Erie) she said it was warmer than the water on the west coast.

I know what you mean, Sundancer. I lost both of my parents when I was really young, and my only sister in 1991. I still miss all of them, and there isn't a day that goes by when I don't think of them. You never get over those losses; you just learn to live with them.

I can relate to the warm water! LOL... I think that if we had a backyard pool, it might have boiled me like a lobster. We do belong to a club, but it's a bit of a drive from our house, and yesterday was both too hot and too busy with the Fathers' Day thing to go for a splash.

We ended up having Indian food for dinner rather than for brunch. I'd fixed Jim a little breakfast, and when it came time for brunch, we were both still too full. We had a nice time, and it satisfied Jim's craving for Indian that I've been consistently squelching for months!

And our son forgot to call his dad!! He's been spending his weekends in frantic searches for a new place to live. His current lease is up this month, so he's on a real deadline now. His idiot landlord won't let anyone go on a month-to-month, and his attitude has really irritated our son, who has been acting as this guy's manager in the house (keeping it rented for him), for the past four years! Oh, well... It's time for him to get a place of his own anyway, but his big challenge is that he wants wherever he ends up to be within reasonable walking distance of the Metro. Affordable places are hard to find, unless you go way far out. He zeroed in on one yesterday, and it's very close to a station. The apartment itself looks like its a good size, but when I was reading the review this morning, I was NOT impressed. There were consistent comments about lazy, uncaring management, and other things that concerned me. (*wrings maternal hands*)

Anyway, Jim is going to try to have lunch with the wretched child today (depending on everyone's work schedule), so maybe he can pry a little additional information out of him.

HOT today, and I need to pot some things. UGH! I should just go to the darned pool, but then the exercise room will taunt me...

Indian food sounds fabulous. I need to find a good place down here that does take out for when Vinnie is out of town.

It has been insanely hot today. The darned news interrupted YnR today to tell us about how hot it is outside. Like, duh!! Doesn't he know that this is why we were inside watching soaps?

Anyways, the double moderating has been fun....but the YnR board is way slow compared with the GH board. I think that we have our posters trained to report so much that it makes our jobs easier. Its easy when someone is telling you where the problem is, where as on YnR I have to go look for it...that and Pop banned a couple of bad posters so its been quiet.

How are things with everyone else?

Shelly, I'm doing the OLTL board now, and it's been kind of a mental break for me. I've been so focused on the one board for so long now that it sort-of clears my head to deal with a new set of posters. And they're ALL pretty much a whole new group from the ones we were all posting with back when we first met each other!

I imagine that it's a little like that for you, with a new board.

It is nice to have different posters. One odd thing is that each board enforces different rules differently. Like at YnR they don't allow writer bashing...but at GH people bash Guza all the time...and Pop writes all the letters. Which is nice for me because I hated writing them but still different. Pop is back now so it makes it a little less stressful. I do enjoy it though. And knowing that the gH board is still covered fine is good.

Oddly enough i haven't gotten any RPP's in a couple of days.

It was very hot here in northest Ohio playing tennis and we start at 7:45 a.m.!

Also, speaking of HOT----has anyone watched "Hot in Cleveland"? I feel bad I missed the first episode. It is on TV Land station. The second episode will be on tonight at 10 p.m. Eastern time.

Lord, have MERCY!!! It was 100 degrees here a couple of days ago, and we're not even out of June yet. I've been potting some plants in back, and can only handle brief periods of being outside. It's just brutal... Jim was doing some weeding in front a little while ago, and had to come inside after about ten mintues. I'm afraid to think about what August is going to be like this year.

Shelly, is it this bad where you are? I'm betting that it is!

Sundancer, I haven't see that new show, but want to. I keep forgetting to look for it!

KaeEll, are you alive?? I know you've been busy, but we'd love to have an update!

Our son is moving into his new apartment, and we expect to see it "in the flesh" for the first time later today. I'm excited for the child!
