if you have a daughter

my daughter is in ballet and they require a bun, although not so much with her age group (3), but one mom had this cute thingy called a hairagami that you twist the hair up and it snaps in a perfect bun shape

it's really adorable, I'll have to take a picture and attach later

Oh I remember those. They wer on the infomercials, and I begged my mom for one but she never got it for me. She goofed and got some weird banana clip.

ah, if you lived near me sarah &/or i could teach how to do the perfect dancers' bun.  sarah danced competively for over ten years & that was one of the first things we learned how to do.  we had that gizmo at one point, but truthfully we found it easier to just do the bun the old fashioned way.

some tips.  comb some product through her hair before you put in into the ponytail.  it helps cut down on those pesky wisps.  spray well afterwards....i'll ask sarah which product she liked best.  beware of paul mitchell freeze spray.  one dance teacher wanted them all to use it.  it made sarah's hair break.  we emptied the bottle & put the stuff we liked best in the bottle lol.

I have so much trouble with bobby pins, they just fly right out!

as wierd as it sounds, when I was in the Navy I had a friend who used a sock to make her bun look "squared away" is the term they used. I never figure out how she did it. But I will ask around

I've seen the sock trick, you cut off the toe and roll the sock up (like a doughnut), put in around the pony tail and then pin the hair around it, I just can't deal with those pins!
