Aha , figured out green. Marty should just be a totally new character. She'd fit in the canvas better, I really, in my mind, don't see her as Marty at all. They might as well call her Maggie for all the difference it makes
She could have just been a new psychologist with a son named Cole. The past is so far in the past, that it really doesn't seem to have any bearing on what is happening anyway, especially since all us long time fans know Todd and marty had many conversations, and life changing events where they both moved on!
hey maybe they can someday bring on the real Marty (Susan) and play this Marty kind of like Di on AMC and say that she is an imposter, but then they would have to find a way to make her lovable so we would forgive her
i do like nuMartie. yes, i'd prefer it if they had waited for susan haskell to become available, but that ship has sailed.
this actress is doing a good job. i don't want to see her hooked up w/mc boring however. i thought she had much better chemistry w/antonio in those scenes after the hostage situation. it wasn't an intense sexual attraction but they were so comfortable w/each other. i just really liked their chemistry.

People change over time and she's not in normal mode because she just recently lost her husband. They are putting her in situations to bring up her past (with Jessica, with Nora, with Bo, with Todd, with Viki, etc) so it's going to be one of those slow reintroduction things. Besides, the longer fans were conditioned with Susan Haskell, the longer it is going to take to adjust to Christina Chambers. When Trevor St. John took over as Todd, there was the same, ehhhh feeling that we have for Chambers now, however, that went away. I just don't think they've given us enough history and created solid moments for her past to be more then just a footnote.

I never liked old Marty, so I don't think of Susan, but I also don't think of this new woman as Marty either. And I still can't accept TSJ as Todd, some recasts are just more difficult that others. Other recasts go very well, like Bree, and Kevin and Kelly. Even Kendall on AMC was a great recast and she looks nothing like SMG
