I can confirm that Alexis is going to succumb to her cancer at the end of May sweeps. NLG's contract is up at the end of June and Frons has decided not to renew with her. He's cutting costs and CM was the first of the expensive, older and not priority actresses across the ABC soaps to go. NLG is going from GH and expect OLTL to finally finish off HBS by the end of the year. I even heard a laughing conversation about how they hope that NLG doesn't get an Emmy nomination so they won't have to explain cutting an Emmy nominee. The plan right now is to explain it by saying her death serves the story and provides the actors, including NLG, with the material of their lives. They want to give it the full court press as their big emotional sweeps story with the birth of Elizabeth's baby and Robin and Patrick's wedding. Frons is somehow oblivious that the media relations office is the leakiest department. The people who are informed to try and protect ABC's interests are the ones spilling the beans on everything they're told. I think this is going to be a heard it on the net first situation because from what I understand NLG hasn't been told yet.
The last thing I can add is that at the end of February you will hear that the chemo is not working. That's all I have to contribute.
If there is any truth to this, then I feel for folks over 40 and I hope NLG fans write and call like crazy.it also may be false too.
man oh man....if this is true??? i'm not a big alexis fan, but i have to say the cancer SL has been very well done. i have no idea if this source is in any way reliable. there seems to be a sudden influx of people on SOC who lay claim to *insider knowledge*. i'm more than a tad doubtful.

That all might change if NLG makes it into the final Emmy running too! My other thing here is while I believe Frons has oversight, each show determines their own cast and pay rates, not the head honcho. Head honcho says here's where you need to be and may give advice on how to get their, the individuals on the show determine that bottom line a lot of the time.

after the firing of Alan, I will be pretty upset if they get rid of Nancy. I love her. And love Alexis when she isn't nagging Sam all the time. And if she doesn't get a nod then there really is something wrong with the Emmy process. And didnt they sign Nora a 3 year contract.
I've loved NLG since her Santa Barbara days and always have loved Alexis. I don't want it to be true but if it is and she wants to keep working she'll pop up somewhere else and that show will gain at least one new viewer.
