Barack Obama - IMO

I don't understand what makes him think he's ready to be President: the most powerful man in the world. He's only been in the Senate a few years. This would be like my husband suddenly thinking he should be CEO of his organization.

If he were to get experience and run in say 8 years, I would be very likely to vote!

I think I like Guilliani. But I'm a Democrat!

I could see Hillary as VP, not sure about President, I don't really like her personality. Maybe that shouldn't be a factor.

What's everyone's opinion on this so far??

I actually like Borack, I think he could do good things. I am from Arizona and love John McCain, but if he doesn't shut up about sending more troops then he loses my vote. And I will vote for anyone who isn't Hilary, cant stand her. Then again I didn't like her husband so much either

I have to say that even though he's unexperienced, out of all of the current candidates he's got the most potential. I like the fact that he has some fresh views and unlike most "liberals" he has a few not so liberal views as well. He's not just the normal clone. As long as he doesn't go and change his attitude completely I think I will vote for him. Hillary just doesn't strike me as Presidential material. I think she's a bit too power hungry and wouldn't really know what to do with herself once she got in the White House.

Egads. I don't really know.

If the Democratic primary were held tomorrow, I'd vote for John Edwards, based on the things he said and did during the last campaign. And when it comes down to it, I think he'll actually end being the Dem nominee.

i've been tooting obama's horn for a few years now....since he made that speech at the democratic convention.

i think he is absoluely amazing. he's smart....he thinks ~~~ i mean REALLY thinks. you don't see him changing his position to suite the current situations.

i'm a big clinton fan, but there are times when hilary rubs me the wrong way.

i fell in love w/john edwards when he ran for VP last goround.

i think this country is more inclined to elect a black man over a woman (of any color).

my dream team would be edwards/obama. give barak time to season himself on a broader stage & then he can run for president in 8yrs.

as for barak running now instead of waiting awhile....there is that thing about striking while the iron is hot. barak's iron is just sizzling right now. he's got the momentum right now. if he waits his window of opportunity may close on him.

i used to think i could live w/mc cain as president. not any more. his positon on iraq ~~~ and it would definitely carry over to all dealings in the middle east & elsewhere ~~~ just scares the living crap out of me.

guiliani....yes, he was wonderful during the 9/11 crisis. what most people don't realize is that he was reviled by may new yorkers as his second term was ending. the other issue w/him is that as a native NYer he won't play well nationally. heard something interesting on chris matthews last week. he does this *tell me something we don't know*.....one of the reporters said that when guiliani dropped out of the state senate race against hilary it wasn't b/c of his prostate cancer ~~~ it was actually b/c he was so far behind her in the polls. lol

I could go for an Edwards/Obama ticket. It would be interesting.

You make a good point about Obama being hot right now. It will depend on his wife too. If nobody likes her or if they do. I think that had a big affect on Kerry's campaign. His wife was too out spoken

I'll have to look into Edwards, from what I saw last night he was running behind Clinton and Obama, depends on what state. We'll see how Nasty Hillary gets, she seems really mean doesn't she!!

Well, they had Obama and his wife on 60 minutes tonight and I must say she's the perfect fit. In fact his faimly is so adorable. It's kinda like the Huxtables or something. His wife favors the mother from Fresh Prince of Bel Aire and his daughters are just darling little things. THe wife is well spoken and very warm and maternal.

his wife is fabuous, isn't she. i've seen his kids when he & the wife were on oprah. showed some video when they visited africa. (an aside....oprah offered his family a ride on her private jet for that trip as she was going at the same time. he refused & they flew just like regular folks. he didn't want to take any favors.)

his wife keeps him grounded. she lives in chicago & the kids attend public school. he comes home a lot. limits his time in DC. he wants to be there for his daughters' events & to meet w/his constituents.

yes, right now edwards is third in the polls, but it's early days yet.....we've never had candidates declaring this far ahead of the actually primaries. it's going to be a real dog fight for both the dems & the republicans. i love a good political dog fight lol.

still say that my current dream team is edwards/obama. i'm going to have a very tough time come primary day. i probably won't make my decision till i'm actually in the booth.

as i said, there are days i love hilary clinton & other days she just makes me cringe. i've heard her speak when she was first lady & i can honestly say she give bill a good run for his money when it comes to touching an audience!!! right now she seems to be digging herself a hole by refusing to say she was wroing when she voted in support of the war. edwards has already done that & it definitely boosted his poll ratings. unless something changes radically between now & the primaries this is going to be THE ISSUE.

on tim russert(sp?) this sunday the discussion was which of the top three can turn more blue states red. handsdown they gave it to obama.

Bottom line, the idiot in charge makes anyone look better. I'd take Elmo over George "Out For My Own Historical Saga" Bush any time. He sucks, bottom line. So by comparsion, just about anybody looks better. It's sort of like you're in a meadow and comparing the deer droppings to any of the flowers in the forest. They all seem better, just some more then others.

But on Obama, I'll have to see what he wants to do. Then I'll make my decision.

I hate when politicians talk in circles, that's one big problem I have with Hillary. I like that I can actually understand an answer from Obama

I think the democratic ticket to be afraid of would be Obama/Clinton. Scary no?

I would vote for them combined. I've been telling my husband that all along. But she wouldn't give up the power would she?

Well the first woman Vice President is probably the next best thing to President right?

I think an Obama/Hilary ticket would be too polarizing to too many people.

Like Bran, I think I'll wait until making a decision. I'm def the type to study and listen to the issue candidates lay out. During the last Democratic Primary in 04, I voted for Wes Clark. I just liked the things he said. But I made that decision after careful thought and consideration.

an obama/clinton ticket would certainly be interesting. let a woman be VP for 8 yrs & then i think the nation would be ready for a woman president.

i don't think hiary would step back tho.....not unless obama really pulls way ahead in the polls ~~~ & it's too early to see if that's gonna happen.
