I thought that "Early Moore", or "Vintage Moore", or whatever we were calling my former avatar had outlived its purpose, which was to give us all a giggle. Once I had it up here, though, I was too lazy to change it.
Then, I decided that I was sick of looking at the one that I'd had on SOC forever, so when I changed it over there, I decided to go ahead and change it over here too. I guess that means we'll all have to look at this one for another two years...
The picture was taken in October of 2005 when my husband and I were on a little riverboat cruise to New Orleans. We spent three nights on The American Queen, and four nights in the French Quarter. My husband snapped this on our "private" balcony just after we arrived on the riverboat -- a total joke because it wasn't all that private. This was my pathetic attempt to look alluring! I can tell you that this picture looks much better in its shrunken avatar size than it does in a larger size because my old age, wrinkles, and other facial flaws are far more evident! I think that I'll just keep it small...
I had never been to New Orleans before, and I'm SO glad that I went on this trip because Katrina hit down there the following summer -- ten days after my youngest daughter was there! My husband and I had a wonderful time, met some lovely people on the riverboat, and have some great memories!
(Wait a minute -- it may have been October 2004. I forget! Anyway, it was about ten months before Katrina.)

I know what you mean about pics, It takes me about 10 tries to get a good one, then I go in and erase some acne and wrinkles and whiten my teeth! I am a little vain!
I uploaded one to myspace today to do the celebrity look alike thing, it's kind of flattering to think I look 70% like a celebrity!! ha ha
I've been spending too much time on the pc these past couple of days, I might need an addiction group soon!
You guys are to funny! That's a great story about the picture.
I have not had my picture taken since I changed my hair color, last June. I'll have to ask my daughter to snap a few next time she's in town. I'm also currently down to my lowest weight in 20 years. I weighed in at 110 pounds yesterday at the doctor's office. I have lost about 35 pounds in the last five months, without really trying, how cool is that? Although, I don't want to lose anymore weight, I can't afford to keep on buying new jeans!
But, thank you. I am a mama (of three), so that part is true, and there was a time in my life about a gazillion years ago when I thought that "hot" could possibly apply. Usually in candlelight... But, honey, if you were to see me up close, in sunlight, I might scare you!

Oh John you crack me up. You've got to get faster internet so we can see you more often
And Moore, don't be so hard on yourself! Sure we are getting older, but we are getting better like vintage wine. And look at the men our age, they all look like Sean Connery (as the old saying goes)
Moore, you do look much younger than you say you must be. I'm guessing we're about the same vintage, hahaha.
I did start having my kids in my early twenties, and I do have a granddaughter now who is almost 2, more on the way. It's wonderful to be young enough to chase after the little ones, but senior enough to give them back when they become tiresome. I've paid my dues!
I'm sure that I'm older, KaeEll. (Shhhhhh. Don't tell anyone.)
That picture is SMALL for a reason!!! LOL... If I'd put it on in a larger format, I would have accidentally blinded everyone because people would have been putting their own eyes out from the horror of the sight.
My only saving grace is that my parents gave me good skin.
But, that's why some of the young'uns around here need to take our advice. We KNOW stuff!!!

Moore don't feel bad my mom is 47 and has a grandson who is almost 9 lol. She had me when she was almost 23, but I just had to go and do things early and make her a very young gramma.
