I stopped by a couple of times and there was nothing new going on... And my husband had the computer all day Sunday. The early time change messed up some stuff with his job, he got paged all day
It's weird having daylight time when the ground is still snow-covered, isn't it? But it is melting fast now, thank goodness!
This weekend past, I was disconnected from internet because the router in my son's closet was knocked down and I could only access internet from one of the other computers in the house. There are 2 in my son's room, and my husband's downstairs. We finally fixed it so I'm back on line in my own little corner. We spent the weekend running around and doing tax forms.
Yesterday, my youngest son's girlfriend broke her leg in 2 places snowboarding. This is a mini disaster as she was supposed to leave for Australia on the 20th and my son was to join her on April 12th. She can't go anywhere until the cast comes off in May and the doctors determine whether or not she'll need surgery. My son bought travel health insurance, but Laura didn't yet, so her plane ticket is garbage now. Much gnashing of teeth and scrambling of plans around here at the moment. Ugh.
Oh that poor girl! I would die if I had the chance to go to Australia and couldn't can't they reconsider?! I'd go anyway, now that I think about it
My leg broke in two places in college, I had three surgeries, there was alot of metal pins and stuff for one year. But I would think travel would still have been OK, I was on crutches, but able to get around well
How long is her trip? Maybe she could get a second opinion??
The trip is for 8 months, until December 16. Both Laura and my son got work permits and planned on working in Darwin for 6 months, then 2 months tramping around in southeast Asia. She can't travel because the doctors need to determine if she'll need surgery. It was a bad break. They'll try to figure something else for the plan, but for now, it's all on hold.
Too bad they couldn't plan the surgery in Australia, but that would be hard. And I guess she couldn't work anyway! I'm sure you can sell the ticket on ebay...
