Nope, it's true. No one gets happy. I touched on that as a glaring hole in the shows. There will never EVER be a small town where all of the people have some level of drama going on. I think they should just routinely rotate the happy couple but at least always have 1-2 that happen to be all happy, and wouldn't hurt to have a few cheerful folks running around that aren't in a relationship too.

i only watch GL once in awhile....no other soaps....so i really can't say.
it does seem that abc soaps are primarily plot driven & that's why we get such short~lived couples. yes, zach/kendall have been a couple now for awhile. adam/krystal have been together for quite some time (in soap world that is). jamie/julia as well....tho i hate them together lol.
oltl ugh! who wants those couples to stay together. i so don't want another bo/nora/lindey triangle & god save me from this vicki/clint/dorian crap!
on GH elizabeth & lucky have been *together* for a long time. i want to see the reunited....not at all in favor of a jason/elizabeth coupling. jason & sam have been together for awhile now. carly/sonny will always be together no matter what the wirters do to them. nikolas/emily have been a staple too....w/the inevitible breakups & trials.
i think the couple w/the best long~term chance is kendall/zach. they actually make me think in terms of ~~~ dare i say it? ~~~ supercouple....anchor couple donw the road.
i do hate how they *throw couples together* to see what sticks. that tells me they have no real sense of the core of a character. instead of throwing a new character w/people they should be developing the character & allowing them to build relationships.

i think the writers consider it drama rofl. happy couples are considered boring couples. i don't believe in that.....i love it when couples are happy & find the constant strife beyond annoying.
the only time i can enjoy the stife is when it brings the couple closer together....like it's done/is doing w/kendall/zach right now. tho we don't see much of them jamie/julia appear to be happy (like i said ~~~ boring lol). i thought krystal/adam were happy there for awhile even tho krystal had the big secret.
the only happy couple on OLTL seems to be star/cole...happy w/each other that is. agian, outside stress bringing them closeer together. everyone else on this show is doing the spring shuffle. GAH!
GH seems to be doing the same thing....shuffling people around. i hate when they do this.
