who's glad gas prices are rising?

I'm half glad they are rising, this will force all those idiots who are driving HUGE Suburbans, Expeditions, and Navigators to finally switch to something smaller. They're just a waste. Maybe some people will even consider a hybrid, or demand better cars and alternative fuel.

And people might actually consider public transportation, or riding their bikes to work

The people of this country waste precious resources. This is a good wake up call.

And why are Americans so Obese. Are we completely unable to control ourselves?

And one more thing while I"m ranting. The secretary at my dentist got hit (her car) by an illegal alien. This woman called her friend to come to the scene of the accident with a driver liscense because she didn't even have one of her own!
And then when this woman showed up in court, she had no insurance and said she couldn't pay the fine?

so what do we do with these people that have no liscense or insurance, spend our tax dollars putting them in jail??weirdface.gif

LOl well, Tina I wouldn't mind the whole gas thing if it wasn't for the fact that my husband works 50 miles away from home and no one around here works in the same area. I do hope that this encourages our state to improve on the public transportation thing. Springfield doesn't even have buses that go to the whole town. THey only cover a few small areas. Of course I wouldn't mind getting a hybrid. I would love a hybrid in fact lol. That and we might shell out the money to get our Explorer to be a flex fuel vehicle. The local Ford dealership says they'll do it for 400.00 for us. As long as the E83 stays nice and cheap that'll be a good investment for us.

OH and sorry to hear about your dentist's secretary. That lady should be put in jail for driving without a license. That's what would happen to a legal citizen.

well as much as I would love to get out of our big SUV's (though the biggest we have is a Durango) we cant. For one we cant afford to just drop money on a new car. Trust me, I have to drive half an hour to school and would love to downgrade to a car to save money...but cant afford it. My SUV isn't as large as some but its still an SUV. Plus we intend on having more kids. And you can only fit so many car seats into cars....And seriously, if I could afford to buy a hybrid I would be at the Toyota dealer right now picking out a color.

and public transportation doesn't work for me either because I have only lived in CT for about 7 months and have no clue about where to catch it.

So to answer your question, I am not happy about the price of gas rising....I dont enjoy shelling out $60 for a tank of gas. And plus I plan on flying to Phoenix in July and with gas prices so high its going to cost a fortune to buy my tickets.

and I am so annoyed to hear about yet another case of an alien causing someone harm. In Phoenix they actually just had a huge case where an illegal killed someone in an automobile accident. And like you said, she had no drivers license. Its one of the things that irks me.

Oh yeah very very huge. The Ram has a Hemi doesn't it? That's what Scott got and it makes no sense. I understand wanting a King Cab or something like that because on weekends that he has his daughter he needs the room for the car seat, but gees louise he works in an office. Trucks like those are made for guys who haul a lot of people back and forht to places like on farms and what not. Oh what can ya do I guess he has to compensate lol.

haha thats what I think too Jess. I think trucks like that are meant for single people who have time to go mudding and haul the toys to go mudding....

If gas prices rise, we might finally get more hybrids and more public transportation, and some alternate forms of fuel.

I love my mini-van btw. It gets great gas mileage and fits alot of kids and stuff.

I know we can't all run out and buy new vehicles, but at least the collective consciousness will be raised and in turn help our environment.

oh I am definitely conscious about it, its one of my gripes with George Bush. As the leader of what I like to think is one of the most powerful countries in the world he should be able to do something about damn gas prices. But then why should he do anything about it, he doesnt pay to fill up the cars in his motorcades, we do. Grr...

While it hurts tremendously, I think it will at least help out a little bit. Maybe our governor will drop the tax again. It never should havr been brought back

WEll, you know that Illinois has like 2 or 3 extra taxes on our gas imposed by our state. Yeah, I've already written my bitchy letter lol.
