Well, I'm sure it was. So why not join some of us watching Y&R? The quality of soap is so much better - now it's still soap with silliness and such, but there's no comparison to the drivel served up on OL.
I got a call last night from my shopping guru gf at 10 p.m. - she doesn't have a DVR and only caught the last 5 minutes of Y&R, saw the plane crash reveal, and was freaked, had to know what happened. That's a sign that a story is well told, lol. My friend had been bothered for nearly 5 hours over the soap, has a crazy/busy life, 2 daughters, a husband and a maniac boss that keeps her hopping, and yet she still needed to know what she missed! Sigh....OLTL used to do that for me.
I saw 5 seconds of OLTL yesterday, Jessica all pasty and looking like death, whispering something to her father, and it was "click" off. No thanks.
Hiya, Shelly. Since I've had the Canadian version of TiVo, I get Y&R at 11 a.m., then every half hour starting at 4:30 right through 7 p.m. It's the time shift thingy. And at 12:30 p.m., the US day is aired, so it's pretty hard to miss it if you're stuck on the darn thing, lol. OLTL airs at 2 p.m. then again at 4 p.m. with AMC coming immediately before it both times.
I can't imagine watching telelvision without this new gadget. I'm crazy about it!! Taping shows to watch at leisure, then ff'ing all the ads and blah, blah - it's amazing! My husband says he never spent a few bucks more wisely on me, lol. (I guess I'm a cheap date after all.)
Anyway, I think Tina has Tivo, yes? I don't think watching Y&R or OL is an either/or issue, time-wise, but I don't know about the schedule for the US at all. When does it air in your neck of the woods?
here, Y&R comes on at 1230 and runs to 130. AMC comes on at 1-2, OLTL 2-3 and then GH. Days is also on at the same time as AMC. And when OLTL is on there isnt even anything good on the food network, makes me glad I got a job and am not stuck at home in that hour with nothing to watch...Though I have had Medium on my DVR since wednesday and still havent watched it yet. MAybe I will get to it today.
but I am on East coast timing, Tina may have it different since she is more midwest timing. When I was in AZ everything started an hour earlier so that by 3 my soaps were done.
Tina, I couldn't recommend TiVO highly enough! It's changed everything about the way we watch television, and all for the better. If you miss a line someone says, rewind, even when watching live. Dislike wasting time for commercials? FF through. You can actually see 2 hours worth of soaps in less than an hour, and save them if you liked the episode and tranfer them to tapes. (I haven't done this last part, but it's so easy. Just the flick of a couple of buttons.)
I imagine that as it becomes more commonplace in homes, there will be a lot more product placement in shows as people will ignore the ads, but it's a small price to pay.
