Since I don't keep up with AMC really, you guys probably know this already, but thought I'd post it anyway.
Amanda said that Greenlee does something really horrible that affects both Spike and Kendall's unborn baby very badly. Kendall will give birth prematurely too. She said the aftermath of Greenlee's extremely spiteful act will spill over onto several other characters as well. Bad, bad Greenlee!
i'm actually excited about the spike/Deaf SL. if they do it right it can be fantastic.
i don't want surgery to fix spike. i don't want a miracle cure for him either. i want to see his loved ones learn to process this. learn to sign fluently. down the road spike can still be oral & an expert lip reader while still retaining his deafness.
the new HW has said the repercussions of this SL will take a year to play out.

Kris, my s-i-l is a tenured prof at Gallaudet, tells us of all the crazy political stuff going on regarding the deaf and use of speech. It's quite the hot potato. I wonder if the writers will take that into consideration when playing out the deafness of the little boy.
The really militant students regard the use of speech and/or cochlear implants as a sacrilege, and that deafness in itself is to be embraced and nurtured as a way of life, and NOT considered to be a handicap. That could make for a good story in itself.
kae, that's why i'm so excited about this SL. i know the implants are not viewed positively by the Deaf community. for the Deaf it's more about lifestyle & they definitely don't consider it a handicap. that's why i hate how a lot of people are reacting to the SL. it's not a tragedy for spike to become Deaf. it's a challenge, but not a handicap.
i'm anxious to see just how Deaf, will they try the implant, make him oral, or miraculous healing (lol). truthfully, i'd like it to be permanent & profound.

I think what happened with Max's kids is that they wrote them off because Kassie and James have a son who is deaf, and the actors themselves were sensitive to that storyline. So they sent the twins off to SC to live with Luna's family.
If I remember properly (no guarantee) Max and Luna's deaf son s/l preceded the real life birth of Kassie and James's son! Creepy.
Yeah, I remember there was a good reason why they were deaf, I cant remember though. Were both of them deaf or just one? Wow that was awhile ago. I miss Max.
i read spoiler that said greenlee is forced off the highway due to an accident. it didnt say she causes it though but she probably will get blamed for it
