So we debated here at work whether there's potential the porn star knew exactly what she was doing when she used the name and figured she could make some old high school rival or whatever feel some discomfort. I argued I didn't think any one could be that vindictive but a woman here at work said "Yep, women are that evil when need be."
So is that scenario likely and would you say that you'd do something like that? Ever?

I agree that women are evil when they need to be. And its hard to believe that she didn't do it on purpose. Though maybe she didn't think that the real thing would ever find out. It doesn't say whether or not they are friends or not. Its a tough call, but if it was my name that was taken I would probably sue too...though I wouldnt care if they used it I would want some money out of it
Well and it's not like this can't be settle easily. Most porn stars end up being 1 name anyways. So Vivid pays some cash to this lady (not like they can't afford to settle out of court) and Syvette Wimberly the porn star becomes Syvette. That's my guess for how this turns out.

i dont pay much attention to porn, so I dont know if this girl is good at what she does or not. One of you gentlemen will have to enlighten me on that one
Considering that this woman chose pornography as her profession, it doesn't surprise me that she would stoop to such libelous activity. The real Syvette should get a healthy settlement, and the other one (the porn woman) should be fined, at least.
Do women sink to dirty tactics for revenge? I've never seen much of it. I have a guttersnipe cousin who blackmailed her father into changing his will in her favour. That's about the worst of it.
Given the fact that this *lovely* young woman couldn't manage to come up with a profession other than porn star, she may not be all that bright!
While I don't discount the fact that she COULD have done this out of spite, for some reason known only to the two women, I think that it's probably more likely that she remembered the name as being unusual, and was too stupid to realize that using it could end up biting her.
I still remember a girl's name from the 8th grade. It was Shirley Turley...

in all honesty it does sound like it was purposeful spite on porn~girl's part.....and yes women can & do behave this way. fortunately most of us outgrow it early in HS.
hope the real syvette gets a nice, healthy settlement.
