I am adding the name of a dog named Bear who is 14 years old.
It seems that Bear underwent some minor surgery to remove a fatty tumor, but is having unexpected bleeding. Bear is the owner's "baby", and she is terribly upset. Understandably...
This information came to my attention because Bear's owner is an occasional poster on SOC. She was very much looking for prayers, and began a thread asking for them for her pet. Unfortunately, I had to deleted her thread.
I wrote her an email, and promised her that I would add Bear's name to a prayer circle that I just happen to know about. Good timing, Tina!
So, everyone please send up lots of prayers for Bear... Here's his picture:
This is sweet Tina. I'm still at that religious crossroads I talked about earlier, so I'm not a big prayer, but if it helps, I'm in. I will say good thougts for everyone.
I'll need some good thougts myself...I just made the huge decision to give my work a month's notice Monday and I'm planning a big move to Wyoming. I'll give more details later. I just got back from my trip there, and I'm dead tired.
Here's to Bear added to my list! What a sweet boy.
And Jojo - congratulations on the big decision!!!! Let us all know the details so we can send positive energy to you and Jackson. So exciting! And then you'll be just a 28 hour drive away instead of a 4 day one! Remember we have that sofa-bed. And if you'd like to try out some snow-boarding, we have a couple of in-house instructors, too.
Ok, well here is the story of my sister in a nutshell. She really does have a life that could rival any soap opera.
My sister married this guy named Jeff a little less then a year after she had a bone marrow transplant for leukemia. Needless to say that because of the radiation she cant have kids, at least not without help. Now this was good with this marriage because Jeff had a daughter from a previous marriage. It seemed like a good package and I suppose for awhile there it was. Now Jeff was/is a serious drinker and while Sharon was for awhile she started attending church and quit the party life for the most part (Jeff later told her that it was the church's fault for all of their problems.) Well long story short, in the last year of their 4 year marriage they had serious troubles and Jeff wasnt coming home much....and Sharon and Tyler were not getting along because of the whole step-mom thing that I think a lot of kids go through...As a result of one of their fights Jeff took their dogs (which were like Sharons kids because she couldnt have any) to the pound because Tyler lied and said they bit her....and I know we have lots of dog lovers in here so you guys all know how many mutts get adopted at the pound so you can imagine what happened to her beloved dogs...argh..
anyways, my sister has a good friend who knew of an investigator that he had tailing Jeff and discovered that Jeff was spending a lot of time with a blond stripper. So my sister left him, and she took their dog...a harley great dane. He was more upset that she took the dog, which was worth upwards $500...then that she left. Not long after she left him he got an extreme DUI and had to live in the oh so famous Tent City for a few weeks...But he still contended the divorce because of the dog he wouldnt have been able to take care of since he was in Tent City.
Well, to make an even longer story then this I assure you shorter....he is now married to my cousin (who by the way is blond and used to be a stripper) and they have a daughter together. The one thing Sharon couldnt give Jeff, our sleazy cousin could.
Now what does this have to do with her moving. Well my little brother had a daughter 6 years ago that he couldnt take care of. And Sharon adopted her (God works in weird ways sometimes). She met this guy Rob at a CAD (computer aided drafting) convention and they were friends for a long time and then started dating. Well he lives in Va Beach. So while she isnt moving there to be with him, it does help her because it gets her away from her ex-husband and his new wife. Its a good chance for her to be on her own. And who doesnt love Va Beach? And it is seriously her turn for happiness...with all the crap that has been handed to her I dont know how she is such a optimistic person but she is.
Didnt I tell you that she could be a soap opera
Anyways, I am flying to Phoenix and we are starting our drive on the 6th of August. So far we have enough places to stay that we wont need a hotel for the whole trip, which is awesome. We will be traveling with my Jojo, her Hailey (6yo) and a 3 year old dog. Fun Fun...
And Jojo and Bear have been added to my list. I have gotten better about praying everyday
Wow, Shelly. It sounds like your sister is really making a better life for herself. I'm so sorry she had to go through all of that. But she sounds like a real trooper and she will make a great life for herself in VA Beach. I wish her the best and will send many good thoughts her way. Good luck on the trip!
Yes, good luck and all for Sharon and her move. She'll have to go up to Williamsburg one day. I just love that area. I've got a cousin there who we used to visit a lot, take side trips to the beach. There's a lot to see in those parts. I hope she finds all the happiness she deserves.
yeah, thats another thing she is using as her excuse. Hailey (my niece) always says she wants to be a doctor..and at the age of 6 she will probably change her mind a couple times, but we all know that there are a lot of really good med schools on the east coast. And with my being in CT I couldnt be happier to have my sister within a days drive away.
I think she may have seen Williamsburg the time she brought my niece out for a visit...I hope not though cause I want to go down and see it with her. And a bonus for Hailey is that she is sure to visit it at least once for a school field trip. I assure you growing up in Phoenix you dont have anywhere near as cool of places to visit as the east coast does. So thats cool. Heres hoping we get stationed down there next.
Thanks for the best wishes. My sister is the coolest
