It's deader than dust! Mike said it looked like I got food in it or something, which I understand is not a good thing for electronics.
What would you guys recommend as a replacement? I'd had the thing for about 5 years, so it didn't really owe me anything. Mike suggested a Canon, but I'm open to suggestions. Help!!
Thanks guys. I'll go to the store this afternoon. I just want something that's easy to use and doesn't produce too grainy a picture. My conked camera was a Kodak, so I'd like to try something different.
Yeah I actually replaced my kodak with a kodak just because of the printer. But the new camera is nice. And Vinnie got me a camera bag to go with it so i didnt have to worry about banging it around
I THINK that my husband uses a Canon (not sure which model), and it's a really nice camera. I'm not sure where he has stuck it, but I don't see it around here to double check for you. He probably has it with him.
Whatever it is, I believe that he got our oldest daughter the same one. Back in another lifetime (when we were first married), my husband was a professional photographer (switched careers many years ago), so he DOES know his cameras!
If you can give me a better idea of what you're looking for, I can ask him. He's coming home a little early today after some follow-up medical appointments.

ooh Moore thanks for the idea..I actually work in the photoservices department at General Dynamics. Though I dont think the guys use digital. You know some people just cant make the switch.
Okay! My husband's camera is a Canon PowerShot Pro 1, and it's really nice...
He can't remember the exact price, but he got it (and our oldest daughter's) from an online source that he loves. The place is called "Abe's of Maine", and the've been very helpful in answering his questions in the past. They have the BEST prices anywhere (according to my husband), and he received both cameras within 24-48 hours.
Hope this helps...

my last camera I got on sale (Olympus) and totally love it. My Canon had bad shutter lag time, but my friend swears by her Elph. And I loved my Sony but those are always the most expensive
I hear HP is good too, check out some online reviews, for me battery life is a big selling point.
The only thing I wish I had was a better flash, but for that I'd have to give up the convenience of having a compact camera that fits in my pocket.
Yes, a digital camera! I think Moore's husband's is the same as the one Mike told me to get. I was going to stop by Black's Camera Store on my way home from seeing my mother, but I felt dizzy and light-headed, so I just came home. I'm fighting off some kind of a bug. That camera is about $300 or so, so it's in my snack-bracket for that kind of thing.
Good luck! I picked up a Samsung a few months ago, and I love it. It was around $150.00 and I find it very easy to use, and takes spectacular pictures. I had an older one years ago, which I lugged all around Europe, and it was great. I forgot to remove some dead batteries, and they exploded in it, and that was it with the camera.
I then went out and purchased a Sony Cyber Shot, for around $400.00. I hate the camera. I have to watch the DVD every time I try to use it, and the memory sticks are outrageously expensive. Every time I was going to snap a picture of something important, it would go into some odd mode, and I would lose the pictures. When I was only able to take 13 pictures in Ireland, that was when I swore off of it. It also killed batteries like there was no tomorrow.
I purchased my new Samsung based upon my old experience, and for $40.00 worth of memory sticks, I could have taken 3,000 pictures in Vegas. I am now back to my old habits of being able to snap away when the mood takes me, and with having lost Dutchess recently, I was really glad that the mood had overtaken me so much in the previous months.
Good luck with your purchase, and may you have many painless picture taking moments!
