The Harry Potter Spoiler Thread, Place Yours Here

Here's the link to the spoiler website that's been in the news:

http://www.zendurl.com/h/hallows/

Here are some key ones:
Spooilers, lol

* Ron dies.
* Lupin dies.
* Percy dies (this death occurs before the wedding, inevitably throwing events into chaos).
* Voldemort dies.
* Snape dies.

Details arent needed. Just say BELLATRIX KILLS RON!

Snapes loyalty? I found this to be the saddest part of the book. As many people guessed, all was not what it seemed with Dumbledore, and the two did indeed have a plan that would eventually result in Snape killing him. But, Snape was only in on things for personal gain, and when Voldemort learns of this, he is obviously furious with Snape. Snape tries to make up for things by luring Harry to him, but Harry manages to escape, and Voldemort kills Snape before the final conflict.

I dont know what all these rumours are about Voldemort kidnapping Ron, its a complete lie. Ron is killed by Bellatrix Lestrange in The Battle of Hogwarts, but Neville manages to finish off Bellatrix after Ron weakens her before his death.

Harry is not a horcrux.

As Ive already stated, Voldemort kills Snape.

Voldemort is killed in the Department Of Mysteries. He baits Harry about his parents, Sirius, Dumbledore and Ron. which turns out to be the worst thing Voldemort could have done. As Voldemort steps out into the circular bit with many doors, Harry opens the locked door, and Voldemort is destroyed by the blinding light, which heals Harry, who seems close to death (he does not die).

The cover art shows Voldemort + Harry at the Deathly Hallows, Harry is attempting to summon Voldemorts Horcrux, as Voldemort is doing his best to keep the enchantment in place.

No-one loses a body part, no idea where that came from?

Also Harry does not get drunk whoever said that.

Harry does not lose his powers.
Whats the deal with the dragon on the US deluxe cover?

The trio fly on it to get to the Deathly Hallows. Only Harry and Voldemort can fight on the Deathly Hallows, but this is not their final encounter.
Whats happening on the UK kids cover?

Gringotts. The trio are searching for the locket (it isnt there) but they get vital information on Ravenclaws book here.
Hows the epilogue done?

I didnt like it. It was in the form of a newspaper article, a sort of Where Are They Now? thing, 20 years on from the final showdown.
You said Ron dies so what happens to Hermy at the end?

As said, her love life isnt specified. But she becomes a Healer at St. Mungos.
Whats Luna/Hagrid/Weasley twins/Nevilles fate?

Becomes editor of Quibbler (her dad passes it on to her)/Remains at Hogwarts to this day/Weasleys Wizard Wheezes becomes multinational/Herbology teacher at Hogwarts after Sprouts death (old age she isnt killed)
What happens to Voldys body in the end?

Completely obliterated by the love from locked room.
What are the horcruxes? How does Harry find and destroy them?

Nagini/Locket/Cup/Ravenclaws Book. Symbol on UK spine is a device that enables Harry to locate soul fragments if you will, Harry can destroy them a lot more easily than Dumbledore.
Whats the deal with the mirror? How does RAB and Kreacher come into the story?

Sirius has left an almost voicemail message on the mirror, to advise him on destroying the horcrux. Kreacher has to tell the trio (on Harrys orders) about the history of the symbol and where to find it.
Whats the lies of Dumbledore chapter about?

Neon was right about this, this is to do with the plan with Snape. I dont know if he got lucky because the Grindelwald thing isnt even close.
What happens to all the teachers? Whos new headmaster etc?

McGonagall is new headmistress.
Whats Harrys fate in the end? Job etc?

Becomes an almost freelance Auror but refuses to work for the MoM

From the Toronto Star, excerpts from article "Wild About Harry".

Spoilers about Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, the seventh book in author J.K. Rowling's amazingly successful series, are already populating many sites and yesterday, many peer-to-peer file sharing sites were ablaze with files that supposedly carried the entire book ready for download.

The files appear to be digital photographs of the American version of the book. Done by an amateur whose hand is seen in some of the images holding the book open the pages are somewhat unclear, but easily readable with photo viewing software. It appears to have every page of the U.S. Scholastic edition, including the title page with the Library of Congress number, the dedication and the "about the author and illustrator" pages in the back.

According to the data in the photo files, the shots were taken by a Canon EOS Digital Rebel Camera and are time-stamped as being taken on July 15 at approximately 8:40 p.m.

If it is a fake, it is an incredibly elaborate one, which suggests Hedwig the Owl and Snape die while Harry, Ron and Hermione live.

Earlier Web files purporting to be the book were later deemed fakes and often proved to be fan fiction.

Scholastic, Inc. has been busy ordering would-be spoilers to remove their info from the Internet.

"I'm guessing we're in the double digits," Scholastic spokesperson Kyle Good said. "There's so much out there that it's confusing for fans. Our lawyers are trying to keep down the amount of spoiler traffic that's out there and clear it from places where fans might be reading."

"I think it's too bad. I think we here are really happy to join in the fun of having everybody receive the book at the exact same time," says Nina McCreath of the Flying Dragon bookstore in Toronto. "I'm trying not to read anything (about the spoilers). I don't want to hear anyone's predictions. Not only are we looking forward to our customers enjoying the story, but personally here at the store, we're all very excited about the book ourselves, so we want to be reading with an unjaded perspective."

I'm going out on a limb and saying a strong no. I believe they were shoving Ron and Hermoine together if anything.

STRAIGHT FROM THE SOURCE FINAL BOOK NEWS:

Spoiler alert: This story reveals some key plot points in the final Harry Potter book. So if you've haven't finished the book, J.K. Rowling asks that you not read this story.

If you found the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows rather vague, then J.K Rowling achieved her goal.

The author was shooting for nebulous, something poetic. She wanted the readers to feel as if they were looking at Platform 9¾ through the mist, unable to make out exactly who was there and who was not.

I do, of course, have that information for you, should you require it, she told TODAYs Meredith Vieira rather coyly in her first interview since fans got their hands on the final book.
Ummm yes, please!

Rowling said her original epilogue was a lot more detailed, including the name of every child born to the Weasley clan in the past 19 years. (Victoire, who was snogging Teddy Lupin and Tonks son is Bill and Fleurs eldest.)

But it didnt work very well as a piece of writing, Rowling said. It felt very much that I had crowbarred in every bit of information I could In a novel you have to resist the urge to tell everything.

But now that the seventh and final novel is in the hands of her adoring public, Rowling no longer has to hold back any information about Harry Potter from her fans. And when 14 fans crowded around her in Edinburgh Castle in Scotland earlier this week as part of TODAYs interview, Rowling was more than willing to share her thoughts about what Harry and his friends are up to now.

Harry, Ron and Hermione
We know that Harry marries Ginny and has three kids, essentially, as Rowling explains, creating the family and the peace and calm he never had as a child.

As for his occupation, Harry, along with Ron, is working at the Auror Department at the Ministry of Magic. After all these years, Harry is now the department head.

Harry and Ron utterly revolutionized the Auror Department, Rowling said. They are now the experts. It doesnt matter how old they are or what else theyve done.

Meanwhile, Hermione, Rons wife, is pretty high up in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, despite laughing at the idea of becoming a lawyer in Deathly Hallows.

I would imagine that her brainpower and her knowledge of how the Dark Arts operate would really give her a sound grounding, Rowling said.

Harry, Ron and Hermione dont join the same Ministry of Magic they had been at odds with for years; they revolutionize it and the ministry evolves into a really good place to be.

They made a new world, Rowling said.

The wizarding naturalist
Luna Lovegood, the eccentric Ravenclaw who was fascinated with Crumple-Horned Snorkacks and Umgubular Slashkilters, continues to march to the beat of her own drum.

I think that Luna is now traveling the world looking for various mad creatures, Rowling said. Shes a naturalist, whatever the wizarding equivalent of that is.

Luna comes to see the truth about her father, eventually acknowledging there are some creatures that dont exist.

But I do think that shes so open-minded and just an incredible person that she probably would be uncovering things that no ones ever seen before, Rowling said.

Luna and Neville Longbottom?
Its possible Luna has also found love with another member of the D.A.

When she was first asked about the possibility of Luna hooking up with Neville Longbottom several years ago, Rowlings response was Definitely not. But as time passed and she watched her characters mature, Rowling started to feel a bit of a pull between the unlikely pair.

Ultimately, Rowling left the question of their relationship open at the end of the book because doing otherwise felt too neat.

Mr. and Mrs. Longbottom: The damage is done.

There is no chance, however, that Nevilles parents, who were tortured into madness by Bellatrix Lestrange, ever left St. Mungos Hospital for Magical Maladies.

I know people really wanted some hope for that, and I can quite see why because, in a way, what happens to Nevilles parents is even worse than what happened to Harrys parents, Rowling said. The damage that is done, in some cases with very dark magic, is done permanently.

Rowling said Neville finds happiness in his grandmothers acceptance of him as a gifted wizard and as the new herbology professor at Hogwarts.

The fate of Hogwarts
Nineteen years after the Battle of Hogwarts, the school for witchcraft and wizardry is led by an entirely new headmaster (McGonagall was really getting on a bit) as well as a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. That position is now as safe as the other teaching posts at Hogwarts, since Voldemorts death broke the jinx that kept a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor from remaining for more than a year.

While Rowling didnt clarify whether Harry, Ron and Hermione ever return to school to finish their seventh year, she did say she could see Harry popping up every now and again to give the odd talk on Defense Against the Dark Arts.

More details to come?
Rowling said she may eventually reveal more details in a Harry Potter encyclopedia, but even then, it will never be enough to satisfy the most ardent of her fans.

Im dealing with a level of obsession in some of my fans that will not rest until they know the middle names of Harrys great-great-grandparents, she said. Not that shes discouraging the Potter devotion!

I love it, she said. Im all for that.

I never saw an attraction between Hermoine and Ron, can't believe she married them off. I would have thought Harry for sure. Oh well I'm not that big of a fan that I'll lose sleep over this.

I had been trying to carve out time to sit down with this book, undisturbed, since it was first released, and managed -- SUCCESSFULLY -- to avoid all of the spoilers!

I have JUST finished it, about 1/2 hour ago, and it was absolutely FANTASTIC! As with the previous books, each chapter was suspenseful, and the end was everything that a Potter fan could hope for.

And -- I'll just confess it right here and now, publicly -- that I cried on TWO separate occasions.

MAGNIFICENT!

As I understand it, J.K. Rowling is going to begin writing adult mysteries. I, for one, can't wait! this woman really knows how to tell a story...
