Hello again! I am enjoying the show more often!

I hope this is the place for this post. I admit, I haven't been back here in awhile. But I received an email from someone here that responded to my column and I decided to drop by and say hello again.

I have to say that I am actually enjoying OLTL more often these days. I have noticed improvements on the pacing and the characterization. And there are some new couples on the horizon that I am excited about.

I actually share the enthusiasm of Robin Strasser and Erika Sleazak about Ron C.

Hey, Tash!! good to see you again!

Yeah, OL is back on my to tape list again. I took today off and actually watched it live for the first time in quite a while.

I'm going to keep an optimistic view for Ron C. I got so tires of complaining!

I still think Y&R is the best soap out there, but it's a different creature from OLTL. Apples and oranges, in a way.

I totally agree about the apples and oranges comparison about Y&R and OLTL, or any ABC soap for that matter.

I tend to be more entertained with the show lately too. Though I know I will be happy when this whole Todd mess is all over

I got quite the chuckle this morning as I went for a little lurk at the insane asylum that SOC has become and saw that our Tina started a thread about not missing Todd or Evandeline. And Tash popped up in there too, saying that she agreed too.

Me three!

I never visit the OLTL board over there. I chat on the AMC one because I know that our Moore wont let it get out of control. And on some days you will find me in the GH and Y&R boards. I dont like the Y&R board on most days because people are always bashing Phyllis and you know how much I love her. So rather then get into it with these people I just stay out of it

The Desperate Housewives board over there is good but during the summer it stinks

Tina's so right, and I'm one of the worse offenders! It's like a conversation more than a debate on a topic, and I flap all over the place. One minute we're talking about recipes, then it's about something altogether different.

Hey there!

I saw that you popped into the thread on SOC as well. I am actually surprised the thread actually survived this long over there. I was glad you started it because I really could care less about either character which is totally sad because Todd Manning was the character that I have loved for many years. And now I find myself rooting for anyone but Todd Manning.

As for Evangeline, well I just don't get the BIG deal about her. I liked her from time to time and even enjoyed her relationship with gasp...Cristian but the character is gone and I am so tired of hearing about how the show has wronged poor REG.

Anyhoos, I will be around more often as I have now gravitated towards message boards where people actually discuss more than one character on the show...which means I will hardly ever post at SOC.wink.gif

TASH!!! My old pal from the OLTL forum... I haven't seen you in ages.

I hardly get a chance to post on OLTL anymore, but try to every once in a while. It's nice to see you over here. This is a nice, small board, and we like to chat over here. We post recipes, and talk about what's happening with each other's families. That kind of thing.

I don't post much about the soaps here because if I'm going to post about that, I'll just go ahead and post on SOC. And, I'm WAY too lazy to post twice! LOL...

But, this is where I come to relax!

SOC is a scary place. We've all been here over a year and not one fight!

I can't say anything on other board without someone getting all upset. And I'm the least likely person to start trouble

I'd like to see the good ones who are left there, come over here.

I liked REG but had no idea people were THAT into her!

That's partly because we're so small over here, Tina.

Can you imagine the cluttered threads over there with all the shear volume of posters and posts that we have on SOC if we tried to post there the way that we do over here? It would be nuts!

It's also because SOC is limited to posting about soaps specifically, and isn't meant to be a general message board. And again, there are just WAY too many people posting CONSTANTLY over there, 24 hours a day, for it to function in the same way that this one does...

Just speaking from my experience, having seen it from both sides...

If I had to manage this kind of chat on the AMC board, with an average of 200 to 300 people on it at any given time (over 500 at once when Dixie ate the pancakes), I'd probably hang myself from the nearest bridge!

when I first started over there on SOC, the One Life board was alot smaller and somewhat personal. But you still get the people that want to get upset over every little thing. I guess this board is alot smaller, so that could be it. But it also seems we're all very mature over here and we can agree to disagree.

In case you guys don't know, Tash has an online OLTL column over at Darcy Fournier's new site called Total TV Online, and she has done his talk show online with him, too. I used to have a VIP membership there so I was on Darcy's mailing list. I'd get all these emails telling about his new talk show, so one day I checked it out, and lo and behold, Tashlover was there! I emailed her, complimented her on her column and talk show, asked her to pop in here.

So again, welcome Tash! I hope you kids will nip over and read her stuff. It's in the free part of Darcy's site.

Very cool. Could we have the link, to go check out the on-line column? I always love to find new spots to check out the soaps.
Thanks,
Sophia

Here it is. Look for Tash's View on the left. The talk show is in the blue box on the right.

Well, ya gotta grow it before you can cook it, at least if you live in the sticks like where I grew up. smile.gif

Hi, everyone,

I can see Moore's point about keeping SOC on topic to some degree. I guess it's just that, like another poster here, I remember SOC from the good old days. I've been there since I was in college, which means 1997 or before. I think it was the first website I found when I went looking for AMC recaps. Back in those days, we were allowed personal threads. One of my all time favorites was the getting to know you threads we used to do. I really enjoyed that. And without that personal touch, SOC just isn't worth the hassle to me for the most part, at least not the message boards. I check the main site occasionally. And try to post twice a year to keep my account active. Usually just a "Hi" thanking Raven. That's the one kind of personal message the board allows.

Sophia - noticed your new avatar of your Dutchess. God rest her soul. She was a beautiful baby!

Love to All,
AF

Thanks Anita, I miss her terribly, but I try to remember all of the laughter and love that she brought into my life. It's great to see you out here!

Hi Anita!!! So nice to have you drop in for tea.

Tess, have you thought about getting another doggie yet? I barely lasted a month before we got Chloe after Candy passed away in November 2001. It really helped.
